    Thanks Rex_Mundi :)

One more thing, I once had a card with HFC Bank, also known as HouseHold Bank, who are now known as 'Beneficial Finance'. They are a member of the "HSBC Group".

Should I include this account with my main claim, or will this need to be separate?

HFC are a seperate bank!!!! Try googleing them for details on them, HSBC is only linked with First Direct

I agree that it's very wasteful, but they're acting under the terms of the Data Protection Act. They can supply the information in this way should they wish.

Considering they know what's coming, it's very unlikely any bank will find details of every charge and present them nicely to you on a single piece of A4.

For those with Internet Banking, you can get your statements from HSBC going back a long time, so this could be an option.

Ok not offence but that is a load of dog poo, they are doing this so that us nobodies will miss the odd few, it is as simple as them going into their systems and searching the dates you require and listing only charges, it is a 2 minute job!!!! I am sorry to say I am an ex bank employee so no bank will screw me over, it pays to know your stuff as not many paople do and thats how banks get away with so much!!!!

Just to let you all know in addition to my H.S.B.C. success they offered me £950 as I have mentioned before.
I signed the letter they sent me and wrote one up myself, in it I said I have acepted the offer as it is a very good offer but if they could find it in their hearts to re-imburse me the full amount as I have a new baby boy and the stress that H.S.B.C. have caused me over the years with their unlawful charges really put a burden on my finanaces.
Anyway they have paid me today £1050 so a really nice letter to Colin Langdale worked, in the letter I also thanked them etc!

Now I`m awaiting my statements from Barclaycard... watch this space
  • Thank Rex
I have started filling out the court allocation form and will also send out a letter to HSBC refusing their ridiculous offer. And will and see what happens. Can you suggest where to find a template offer refusal letter.

    Thanks again

Sent letter requesting £2031.86 refund on 29th January and suprise suprise I had the 'we are investigating' letter today, the 14 days ends 12 Feb (next monday) so I seriously doubt I will get refund by then. What do you recommend I do now? I have read 'letter 4 template' from this site, do I send this one monday recorded? Do i need to start court proceedings before I send this? Do I have to start it or will threatening be enough??? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Send letter 4 template on Monday. Do not wait for any of their deadlines. You must send the next letter (giving them a further 7 days) before you issue a court claim. The reply you've had is a standard letter.

So I dont actually have to start the court proceedings as it says on the letter 'and therefore the [INSERT NAME OF COURT] court will rule in my favour.' do I just write the name of my local court here as a threat?

You only issue a court claim AFTER you have sent the next letter giving the bank another 7 days to settle. The court is your local county court.

I too had a "goodwill" refund of 100.00, am claiming for 2,528.00 so the refund was not even close!! Their Complaints Dept said they considered the issue closed, so naturally I have made a claim through Money Clain OnLine, as looking at previous threads, this seems to be the only way the bank will pay up. Another 12 days left for them to defend the claim so fingers crossed.

To anyone else, don't be afraid of issuing a claim, MCOL is very straightforward. All claims seem to go through Northampton so don't worry if you are not local.

    Good luck to all !!
If you make a claim through money claim online does it cost anything
