    Ok, Ok

    I take it all back.

I still think that you would be better off writing to the head office though.

The addresses in the first post are where the banks Data Protection team are located. The addresses in the next post are the banks Registered Office, neither are necessarily the banks Head Offices.
  • I have totaled up around £1200 in charges since i opened my hsbc account. has anyone had any luck claiming with hsbc? how long did it take for you to get the money? we are expeting our 2nd child in march and the money would be really useful! did you have to close your account with them or did you do it anyway? i dont think i have a very good credit rating as i am in a bit of bad debt and wondered if this will effect me opening another account with another bank?:o

    Hey all,

(Have asked in the HSBC thread but no reply and really would like to start the ball rolling tomorrow)....

I'll be sending off my 1st letter to HSBC data protection tomorrow but before I do - I could use a little bit of advice.

I have one main current account with HSBC, which has 2 cards assigned to it (I asked for this years ago to help separate bills/spending). Both of these cards have over-drafts which are maxed out every month, and I regularly get charged for this.

I also have a credit card with HSBC and although I am slowly reducing the amount, there have been many occasions when I have gone over my credit agreement.

Within the past 6 years, I have had a HSBC flexi-loan, which I had a few charges from.

When I write to the data-protection department at HSBC, do I just quote my main account number or will I need to include the account/reference number of each card/loan etc.

    Cheers

One letter, all/any account numbers for the accounts you are after information from (you can do all your accounts if they are with the same bank), and one £10 fee.

    Thanks Rex_Mundi :)

One more thing, I once had a card with HFC Bank, also known as HouseHold Bank, who are now known as 'Beneficial Finance'. They are a member of the "HSBC Group".

Should I include this account with my main claim, or will this need to be separate?

I've never heard of these, I'm sure someone else will help you out with this part of your claim.

  • The lady I spoke to said that if I had have sent in the duplicate form, they would have paid me but they would probably have eventually noticed... She was very helpful and seemed concerned that I hadn't yet received my money back (I'm not worried but I wish they'd pay up quick as I want/need new glasses) so she chased it up and came back to say that they are, again, so flooded with refunds that it's being very slow to hand the cash back over...

well i hope you get your specs soon. hmm... if you think it's delay tactics though i would send off the court letter, kick em up the bum a bit!

She said it could take 10 working days. It'll definitely be in by the time I have to pay my bills this month and if it's not and I get charged, I shall be making HSBC cry... ;)

I'm more worried that they seem to have lost my loan application papers...
