    Good Afternoon Everyone,

I have had the standard response from HSBC regarding my claim for £409 unfair charges.

Mr Langdale seems to be a popular bloke - we're all getting letters from him
Do I now wait for his next response or should I send in the second letter threatening further action.

Any advice would be appreciated - thanks in anticipation

Keep to your own timetable. Once the first deadline is up, send the next letter.

:j Yay! I have received a letter today offering me £165.00 back :j

However, it does not tell me the address to return the acceptance form to.
Can anyone help me ASAP please, as I wanted to post the form off today by Recorded Delivery. Do I send it to my branch or the Service Quality Team in Leeds (where this letter came from).

    Thanks

If the offer came from the Service Quality Team. Send the letter back to that address.

Yes, you can claim from any account you've held in the last six years whether it is still in use, or closed. The process is exactly the same in both cases.

  • Hi all,

I've been trawling through all the posts on this thread but its taking ages!! The advice has been wonderful however I have one question.

I've worked out how much HSBC owe me in bank charges and will be sending the first letter asking for the money back during this week. Should I just be claiming the amount less the 8% interest at this stage?

I don't know whether I should only be claiming the 8% interest if/when I make a court claim?

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

You are entitled to the 8% interest once you issue a court claim. I would keep the claim simple and only ask for the charges alone at the moment. When/if you issue a court claim, add on the interest.

Can anybody tell me please do I send the first letter asking for refund of charges to the registered address(London)
  • Your branch will do for that letter, (registered post or hand in and ask for a receipt) the registered office is required for the court stage.
