suzuki-boy wrote:Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! But what about Temp Overdraft Limit Fees? I've seen a few of those in my statements at £20 a go. Also, when a statement says 'Total Charges to (insert date)' does this refer to say going over one's overdraft limit and is legit to claim back?0

That makes sense from looking across the statements for the months it's been added, I had a feeling it might be but thanks for the clarification. Good luck to you,too!0 -
Hey everyone
I am taking HSBC to court through money claim following martins article to the letter. I have got through the initial stages and ive had a letter back saying HSBC are going to defend all of the claim and they now have 28 days to submit their defence.
Just wondered who else had been at this stage with hsbc and what their defence was? And did you win?!?!
CheersI've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.0 -

Lots of people have been this far with HSBC. I'm not aware of them taking one case to court and winning against the customer, so you stand a pretty good chance of success. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hi
In the middle of claiming back charges for a current account 703.00 and for an old joint account 130.50 from HSBC.
Sent first letter to get bank statments on Dec 12th and got them back no problem in Jan but in batches. Unfortunately with them was a letter advising that the £600 overdraft had been withdrawn. Appartently it was a temp one and a letter sent 15/12 was sent first?!
This account only has £200 in every 2 weeks and was swallowed up. After both of us visiting the branch to try to get something sorted we were treated like idiots. V long story so I wont bore you but very upsetting for my partner and I.
Thankfully there is a new account open and other funds available. No chance of settlement now (14 days runs out 29th Jan)unless they include the £100ish of interst in the 85% calculation. Then it will HISTORY AT LAST for HSBC and us!!!

I have now started my process, and after going through it all was surprised at seeing that they owed me £564 and £723 including interest (I originally thought it would be £250 and never knew the other sneaky amounts that were taken out). Sending my second letter off today recorded mail and hope that it comes back positive. could really do with 'my' money.
edit: instead of sending the £10 by post in a cheque, I went in store used there free phone service and they debited the £10 there and then.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%

After requesting statements via my online banking last week, i have today received a letter saying that i will need to complete an application form and enclose payment for the information i require, which i have done today.
So at least this proves they received the contact via their website and that the ball is in motion. yipee.0 -
Hi.
Its been 7 days since I completed the moneyclaim file, and since then I recieved a noticve of issue and a notice that Acknowledgement of service has been filed.
Attached to the acknowledgement of service is a copy of a response pack. It is signed by someone from DG Solicitors and the box "I intend to defend all of this claim" is crossed. Does this mean HSBC are going to defend? On the moneyclaim website it just says it has been acknowledged.

Don't worry. Lots of banks are entering a defence, but still settling the claim before it gets in front of a judge. If the bank enters a defence, you will be sent an allocation questionnaire. We have a full guide here showing you how to fill this in.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
