  • hi there money savin folks,

i have sent off my first letter to my local hsbc branch in yeovil to request £780 back. i suppose i am lucky becouse i recieved a reply, saying "we r looking into it", but i it came from the service quality team in leeds. i assume Mr Langdale is pretty busy typin out all these responses. . . LOL

do i send my future letters to leeds or back to my branch in yeovil where i started? that is assuming they don't just cough up the cash.:rotfl:
i hope someone can help me with this, thanks alot.
  • hi there requested statements on 22 november abbey sent letter out for us to sign, so we sent back with 10 cheque, that was cashed on 6 december. so have rung 3 times to state they are in breach of data protection act. there response they have 40 working days from the time they cashed the cheque (is this correct). We said other banks were taking 2 weeks to send out statements why they taking so long, there response was we have over a million people trying to claim (ha,ha). they said our 40 days end on the 31 january.HELP
  • They are allowed 40 days.

Many thanks. I think i have read this previously, but misunderstood. I thought it was 40 days allowance to respond to the request of refund of charges. I think have some more homework to do!

They have not debited my account for £10 yet so i will keep my eyes peeled for that and get on the case.

Can you DEMAND they send the statements within the 40 days then?
  • I don't think you can DEMAND anything, you can ask them and if they haven't complied by the time the 40 days are up you can then complain.

    Hi all,

I sent a letter to HSBC on 10th Jan asking for the £165 back in unfair bank charges.

They have sent me a letter today saying thanks for the letter, they are looking into the matter and will contact me with a full response as soon as they have completed their investigations.

Is this the usual response  I was hoping that this letter would contain a cheque.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.
