Do I reply with 'as I have not received a satisfactory response'?

Just send the second letter as per Martins template. You don't need to change anything.

My total charges amounted to £1094.50 with no interest and this was the amount i requested back in a detailed letter stating date, amount and total of all charges over the last 6 years. Today i recieve a letter from HSBC saying

'thank you for your letter requesting a refund of £680.00' blahh blahh blahh......' Terms and conditions.....blah blah blah'..........
'HSBC are however prepared to payback £585.00 as a final settlement'.

Where do they pluck these figures from and what should i do next?

Looking at all the offers, it seems that they are working on the basis of offering you about 85% of your claim (not including any interest).

I received my offer yesterday - £885 offered on a claim of £1035.

    Hello everyone.

Im just about to start this process, and im ready to send off my letter asking for a detailed list of the charges. Ive just looked on my internet banking and ive paid £150 in charges since august 2006, so by rough estimate it seems they could owe me up to £1800.

Does anyone know where to send the initial letter, asking for a detailed list of all charges?

    Thanks
  • I also had the letter from Mr Langdale asking for a breakdown....

He would have recieved the letter Monday... any ideas how long the wait is until you get a letter back or an offer?

Also does anyone have a contact number for this Leeds address?

Stick to the timetable that you have set, if they do not reply within the timeperiod that you have set then move onto the next stage.

After sending my statements, I got the request for the breakdown of charges on the 6th of January. I responded with the breakdown, and statements again, that arrived with HSBC on the 9th of January. I received a letter from our friend Mr Langdale yesterday (16th) saying that he was looking in to the matter and would give me a full response on completing his investigation.

On the advice of other members, I will ignore this letter and pursue the first court threat, 14 days from the 9th of Jan.

    Hope that helps.
  • I got the same letters back and finally got a response on friday, i was claiming £635 and the offered me £540 which i have excepted as i dont think its worth all the hassle and waiting for an extra £95. apparently takes about 7days for the money to be credited
