    Hi all

The last batch of my HSBC Current account statements finally arrived today after the original letter went out on 14th Dec. Phew - looking through the statements was like a 6 year trip through memory lane!

I've just calculated my charges and it comes to £2072.39 incl £422.89 of interest.

The first letter I sent - was for the Data Protection Controller in Canada Square.
Could someone be kind enough to tell me where the second letter should be sent. Is it the same address?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey,

As a successful claiment from HSBC of almost £3000, I can't think of better advice than mine on this....

    Send your second letter to:
HSBC Bank Plc, PO Box 757, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP2 4SS

the advice here is to give it to your branch, but this worked remarkably quickly... As I say they got back to me VERY qucickly with an offer of just shy of £3000.

cheers and good luck, re: HSBC just PM me, i have gobne through teh mill with tehm in the recent past.

Does it matter if i sent my first letter to my local branch asking for my charges back?

    Hi,

Ive sent out the first 2 letters, got a standard response from the 1st and nothing from the 2nd. I was wondering, can I recalculate the interest from today, as the original calculations were made over a month ago. Also I have an extra £50 coming out on the 30th of this month, can I add that in as well?

    Tony,

My advice would be to call up THIS number: 0845 600 6423, occasionally you will get through to India, but MORE often than not it will be Britain, either way ASK to be put through to A 'Quality Service Officer', you will be put through to one...

...then mention the word court three or four times followed by, I am seconds away from clicking my mouse button and sending my written claim off to MoneyClaim and don't want HSBC to incur further charges... Give them 10 minutes to put you on hold and wait for the offer you get....

  • Barnabus... probably not.. but it was VERY quick to the above address... You get the impression it COULD be left lying about, particually the characters that work in my local HSBC ;)

I'm sure it won't be a problem though.

    Hi Guys

Just about to start a claim for my wife with HSBC.

She has an overdraft, has anyone had charges refunded and had HSBC remove the overdraft or demand that it be paid back with the charges.

    Cheers
  • Reecos, IF the account is still open, whatever the circumstances they will pay the money into that HSBC account, tehrefore wipping out teh overdraft.

the facility will still be inplace though, if it is authorised..

    ...is that what you meant?

  • What do people reckon to the offer I have received from HSBC?
(Charges total £483, offered £453 after two letters, I've not started court proceedings, interest would total £166 on top)
