Thanks John. I checked again this morning hoping that maybe it was later during the night but no...... Oh well, I know it is on it's way and they aren't late so I guess there's not much I can do but sit and wait.

Amelia, Lou - Any news for you two?

  • Hi ya tornadogr

You should definately have had an offer or some response by now. I agree with everything Sam has said above. Can i just ask is it a large claim? Not that this should make any difference in principal but there was one case on here by traceppp who was claiming a large amount and she was told a letter had been sent with an offer several times but eventually it turned out that they hadn t sent one and she has now had to take her matter to Financial ombudsman to reclaim her money. Not saying that is what s happening to you but you really need to e mail them urgently and phone them to say it has been ten weeks and that you really not impressed with how long this matter is taking. Take heart though you will get your money:T its just very stressfull waiting.

Anyway hope that helps let us know how much your claim is for and how you get on

    Good luck

    Lou x

    Thanks Lou:T

the claim is for £450. i am going to phone them now and send a message through. lets just see what they say this time prob the usual we already sent one rubbish and we will send another.

    finger crossed.....

    Hi Amelia

I've been thinking the same thing. I was thinking about giving them a ring today to see what they say but I am at work and can't really afford to hang on the line for half an hour!!

Have you had confirmation that they received yours on the 6th? You said you sent it recorded delivery but that doesnt always mean next day I dont think? I sent my special delivery which guarantees next day delivery and they have since confirmed they received it on the 6th. Seeing as they received John's back on the 5th and he had his money on the 15th I would have thought we should have had ours by now! I guess we cant really chase them until they are over the 14 days that they state. I did email Leeds on Sunday to ask if they could tell me when I would have it but I havent heard anything back.

    It's all just a waiting game.............

    Hi Amelia
    Oh know:confused:

Tillybella didn t get hers either, so the two of you can self combust together:confused: as you say they have stated 14days so maybe we have got to resign to the fact thats what we have got to wait. The reason i think we are so anxious is a.) we all really need the money. b.)) we have waited so long for this moment and c. others have been paid out in a week and we are trying to believe that will happen to us. Joncow received his early so we are all basing it on his claim, he was obviously just lucky and in time we will get our monies back into our accounts as soon as they have done it.

Listen to me im days behind you two and i am checking my account several times a day :rotfl: :rotfl: it ll be a race between the three us now i might ring them tomorrow and make sure they haven t forgotten "The Self Combust Society":rotfl:

i contacted hsbc for the amount 2824.53 (including interest) in may. i received no reply to any letters and then claimed at the small claims where it cost me a further 120. we are waiting for the bank to contact the courts. in the meantime they have sent me a letter with an offer. the offer is for 1783.3 (minus the interest). they are saying that some of the amounts i have claimed for are older than six years but they wasn't when i originaly claimed. should i dispute this or accept the offer.

Lou's right! E mail is the best way! They do answer. I think you'll probably get an offer, within the 8 wks, just my opinion, so stick with it!
    Good luck x

Thanks so much for your advice, the back have emailed me back saying there is an offer on it's way to me for £1262.70. The exact amount I was claiming was £1675.97 but I was including charges. Very pleased with the outcome :j
