i have sent in my first letter and i got the standard response saying they will respond in 8 weeks. Well that was almost 10 weeks ago now and i have still yet to receive an offer. i have phoned up twice now and they have said the letter already went out and they will issue another one and that was a week ago and still nothing.
so an suggestions what is best to do next?
thanks for your help.
Hi
Me and some of the others followed up our phone calls with an email through 'my messages' on the online banking site. This seemed to prompt them into getting going! I was lucky and only made one call at 7 weeks followed by and email and received an offer letter before the 8 week mark, just waiting 'patiently' to have the money paid into my account. When you email say that you have been patient and given them the 8 weeks required and maybe ask if they can fax the letter to your branch so you can go in there and sign it, I think some people have previously done that. You should have had a letter by now, the majority of claims that aren't taken to court have been getting an offer around the 8 week mark. If it were me I think I would email and give them so many days for a satisfactory response or you will be taking your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, see if that helps.
My mate Lou will be on later and she'll probably be able to offer you some advice too.0 -

Hi ya tornadogr
You should definately have had an offer or some response by now. I agree with everything Sam has said above. Can i just ask is it a large claim? Not that this should make any difference in principal but there was one case on here by traceppp who was claiming a large amount and she was told a letter had been sent with an offer several times but eventually it turned out that they hadn t sent one and she has now had to take her matter to Financial ombudsman to reclaim her money. Not saying that is what s happening to you but you really need to e mail them urgently and phone them to say it has been ten weeks and that you really not impressed with how long this matter is taking. Take heart though you will get your money:T its just very stressfull waiting.
Anyway hope that helps let us know how much your claim is for and how you get on
Good luck

That'll me then!! Earlier on I made a decision to go to bed and forget about the money until the morning  So off I went to bed and was asleep by ten, lovely! Then I woke up about 15 mins ago and lay there willing myself to go back to sleep but it got the better of me and I had to come down and log on!
I shall be checking my account at midnight but the way things are going I'm not holding out much hope of seeing any change in the balance  I'm sure they've got spies on here, they've seen how desperate we all are, identified our claims from clues in our posts and deliberately pulled us out to wait the full 14 days!
Not that I'm paranoid or anything..................
I shall report back soon (or spontaneously combust, whichever comes first)...........0 -

Do you have access to online banking? It would be far quicker for you to view your statments online and add up the charges that way. You could probably have your claim in the post before they send the statements to you!!
Sam
I don't know of any bank that offers more than 1 year of statements on-line let alone 6 years! I'm not sure why you keep suggesting this! Maybe I'm wrong.
Also I find it hard enough reading messages on here without your pictures abusing the system!Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -

Yes you are wrong. HSBC offers 6 years of statements online, that is why I keep suggesting it. We are trying to keep it light hearted and have a laugh on here. Apologies if you are offended.
You obviously aren't claiming from HSBC or you would know about the statments online.0 -
With HSBC and Lloyd you can download the statement/information you need via online banking.0
