    Hi I am new here,so bear with me any advice would help. I am claiming from HSBC.First letter for the stating the amount owed sent on the 13th april -

    They made me an offer of £3,274.20
    amount owed £4532.57

    I wrote straight back declining the offer on the 19th June and have heard nothing at all since then.

    I do have an overdraft £1500 ,I very folishly went into the bank to check progress on my claim. They have now withheld my card.

    Since then I have tried to see if anything has been paid into my account only to find they have blocked access to my internet banking facility.

    Any advice? Are they allowed a timescale to reply to my letter.I did ring HSBC on friday and was put on hold for ages after 20mins I gave up. What should I do next?
    SPC £500 well will try very hard.

    GC £6.16/£150
  • Hi, I've started my claim against HSBC. I sent the 1st letter on 1st July, i received a letter saying they were looking into it. It's almost been 14 days (which was what i gave them) i'm just preparing the 2nd letter and wonder whether i should recal the interest on my list of charges.

    If so should i stick a bit in the letter saying i've recalulated and this is the new amount i'm claiming.

    thanks in advance for any help

    I sent a letter to HSBC on 3 July requesting £1,568.19 (including interest)in money owed for their fees and charges. So far no response.
    In other people's experiences how long is it before I should hear back from them? Am hoping for a quick settlement and no court threats.:o

    Hi

    Give them a ring on the 7 week mark and then follow up with a an email via my messages in the online banking, you should receive an offer in the post before the 8 week mark. They will then pay out (if you agree to the offer) within 14 days. Result!!

    Quick way to recalculate your interest (if you're not using a spreadsheet - email me if you want a copy of mine) is .....

    Charges x 0.08 x days / 365

    Remember its Total Charges before interest, 0.08 is 8%, and as this is 8% per year you need to times by the number of days since you last calculated it represented in years, so we divide by 365 :) easy once you know how!<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
    Got It & Spent It :dance:
    IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)
    MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)
    I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)
    CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)
    BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)
    On Hold :mad:
    A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)
    BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)
    BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)
    ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)
