Thanks! Hope you have finally got your money back!
Just waiting for it to be paid into my account! Should have my hands on it by Friday!:j ! I've got a second claim going through which is 8 weeks old on 31st July so I'm hoping for a good result from that too.
Are you going to give them the 8 weeks and wait or go down the court route?0 -
hi everyone im a newbie to this forum. Ive been with hsbc for around 8 years and dread to think of how much ive accumulated in charges on my account! Ive got a personal account and a credit card account with them and wondered about reclaiming the charges from both accounts. Are they easy to deal with or do they make life difficult for people who take this form of action? Also do i need to claim seperatley for each account or can i claim for both at the same time? Are they likely to close my account?
Sorry for all the questions!
Monica
hi
I'm about to claim from HSBC for personal and credit card charges too. I've got my last 6 years statements online for the bank account but I don't seem to have this for my credit card account (or am I just not finding it?).
Thanks Tony0 -
Hi all
Ive just sent my first letters to HSBC. I am claiming just over £1000.00 for our joint account and just under £3000.00 for my OH account. I am just waiting for my statements from my own account to do that one too. Wish me luck. Its great seeing all your success stories. x

Had a dream that money had appeared in account, so with anticipation i logged into my banking and nnnnooooooo it hasnt, really thought that my begging e mail to hsbc to put money into my account by end of week would be there. The only thing they have done is taken out £100 charges from a month ago for being overdrawn by five pounds for a few days. Think i ll go back to bed for day now. lolIts been the longest three months..... success is nearly insight:T ....... Money in account :beer:0

Morning Lou
No money todayI sent a begging email yesterday too say that I have bils to pay blah blah and could they tell me when it would be paid in, hoping that they would just do it. But no, they just emailed back and said sorry we cannot say exactly when it will be paid in but please allow 14 day etc etc. Oh well. Let's hope joncow has his today and then it will mean ours is coming soon!! I was really hoping it was there today, I could have gone out and got my washing machine instead of going to the launderette again!

Hi All
I need some advice.
This morning post has brought the letter from Pontefract County Court, Deputy District Judge Rooze.
I quote.
Upon the courts own motion. The court has made this order of its own initiative without a hearing. If you object to the order, you must make an application to have it set aside, varied or stayed within 7 days of recieving it.
IT IS ORDERED THAT
1 By 4 PM on 1st Augustthe claimant to file at court and serve on the defendant the following information:
i what charges were applied to the account by the defendant?
ii when were these charges applied?
iii why were they applied? eg unauthorised overdraft?
iv were the charges in accordance with the current scale of charges the defendant operated
v why are the charges claimed to be unfair, ie, what should a fair charge be?
vi how is the fair charge calculated.
2 If the claimant fails to provide this information as ordered the claim will be struck out.
3 if the claimant complies, further directions will be given.
End of quote.
first three parts no problem i have all my staements and can detail each.
iv) no idea as i dont have the literature from HSBC for the periods in question.
v) surly it is for the courts to decide what a fair charge should be or the ombudsman.
vi) i dont know how it is calculated.
