Hi,
Can anyone help me with this query please?
I am helping a friend with a claim against HSBC.
HSBC have responded to say that the claim refers to Bank charges and not to penalty charges.
The bulk of the charges my friend has listed appear on her Bank statement monthly about the 27th.
These may have been bank charges for clearing cheques and cash to and from the account.
My question is did HSBC charge personal accounts bank charges in 2004 & 2005?
Are these charges reclaimable?
Where can I get a copy of the charges HSBC made in these years?
Thank you

This was the defence that A+L used for me too. All you need to do is ask them to justify this statement considering the trigger mechanism
As princesskez26 pointed out, the charges can be claimed. Read Martin's article to tell you how to get your last 6 years statements for £10. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges
Joint claim. If your ex does not want free money, get them to sign over any proceeds of the claim to you in advance. Something along the lines of..I, ...them..., here by authorise ...you... to act on my behalf in claiming our joint charges in our claim against XYZ Bank.
All funds retrieved in this claim should be made payable to ...you...
Get them to sign to copies, 1 to send to the bank and 1 for your records.Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -
Hi Guys,
I sent my letter off to request bank charges back on the 23rd May and I recieved a response to confirm they had recieved the request on the 25th May. 14 days later I didn't hear anything else so I sent a letter threatening court action - which I didn't recieve a response to at all. I've worked out that the 8 weeks will be up on the 20th July. What are the time scales at the moment and are people generally recieving offer letters before the 8 weeks or slightly afterwards?
Thanks...0 -
Has anyone got the e-mail address that you can chase them on? :eek:0
