    Hiya!

Hope this merged thread is the right place to post this! :D

I sent letter 2 on May 16th to HSBC claiming £charges+interest as per calculator, to £1130ish.

I got a letter back saying they would look into it fairly promptly.

Clearly, that was a while ago now, and still no news.

I suspect I've waited too long.

Should I threaten legals now? Is the letter at step 4 (letter5.rtf) suitably amended the best instrument? Is it better to hold out for the lot or offer to settle for a grand or so?

I could really do with the money reasonably soon if it's coming, due to ever changing personal circs... :)

    Cheers!

    Heh Potiphar!

I sent my letter on May 17th a few days after yours so fingers crossed HSBC are on the ball a little earlier than the 8 weeks!!

ive secured messaged via the website today only to be told by Heidi that its still being looked into  hopefully we'll hear something soon!

Just to let you know when you e mail them make sure you put ref: account number etc on it, and also they start the eight weeks from the date they put complaint on computer generally a week after you sent it, not from the date of your letter. They do seem to be replying on the eight weeks at moment. i really found the secure on line banking e mail speeded things up for me. \So good luck.

    Hi Ashlee
Same advice to you as potiphar above. If i was you i would send another e mail beginning of next week just to remind them. Things do seem to get moving around the 7-8th week, but can take a while for an actual letter to be received.

Its just a waiting game, but it will all pay off in the end
    Goodluck

    Hi

I ve not actually got as far as receiving letter yet, still waiting but have had an offer via e mail, i think they say two weeks to just stall matters, some people i ve heard have had payout in 5days into account some upto 14days so its really just again a waiting game, to keep us on our toes. You will get it just be patient (ha ha) keep checking balance of account each day.

Sorry i couldn t be more precise with how long

    Good luck

Just send a personal message, telling them how long you have waited ask them when you can expect to hear with a mutually agreed offer. You will get a reply from a lady called Heidi within a day or so, i found e mail was the quickes way of chasing it up.

Good luck and let us know how you get on

    Hi

Send the letter and the charges to:

    HSBC Bank plc
    Service Management
    Arlington Business centre
    Millshaw Park Lane
    Leeds
    LS11 0PP

You should get a reply in about a week saying they are looking into matter, i presume you are sending letter statting that you want a response in two weeks, but you will find they have eight weeks to make you an offer. You can either let this happen (they do generally pay out if you wait 8wks) or you can stick to your timetable and go down the court route, personally i would wait as alot of successes from HSBC have waited and received offer. alot less stressful than preparing for court and dealing with their solicitors. It is entirely up to you. Have a read back through this forum and you will get quite a bit of information from us all.Hopefully you will find it useful with just a bit if hysterical nonsence:rotfl:

    Good luck

P s to be on the safe side send a recorded letter to them and then chase up every two weeks or so for progress report.

I have just received my 'Notice of Transfer Proceedings' and am waiting further instruction from the court.

I had an offer letter from the bank today - it's basically for the amount I am claiming but minus interest and the court fee (£80) - in fact there is no mention of the fact that this has now gone to court. Despite this, I am actually happy to accept the offer.

They have given me a form to sign - it states that my account will be credited with the agreed sum within fourteen days following receipt of the signed form.

My question is what do I do next? This is what I think I should do ..
    1) Sign the acceptance form and send it back to the bank (recorded post) with a covering letter asking them to contact me when the money has been credited.
    2) Write to the court, stating that a settlment has been reached and I am waiting for the bank to credit my account with monies owed. Ask them not to close my case but just delay it until the money is received.
    3) Write to the bank's solicitor to inform them of the above.

Obviously, once the money has been credited I will write to the court/ solictor saying the matter has been settled and to close my case.

    Does this sound ok?

    Cheers
    Claire
