Hi there
I have received a court date for my HSBC claim, and I would like to phone them to ask if they will settle before going to court, as people seem to be getting results when they phone, and I am getting alittle 'nervous'
Could anyone tell me the right number to phone them at HSBC please?
Many thanks0 -

Finally received a letter offering roughly 70% of my claim, which I plan to suggest they pay a little more!
However they are saying they "are not prepared to refund interest as we do not accept that this is appropiate".
Have spent an hour searching various threads for advice on this but to no avail, so sorry if I have missed it but for the sake of my eyes can anyone through any light onto this area please?
Also is there any set % which the banks will pay out without having to take court action?
Cheers guys. x:j (not sure what this fella means but he's quite cute!)
I'm sorry to tell you, your not entitled to any interest, unless you take court action, win, and then the jusge awards it to you. Its more a bargaining tool to help you get it more from the bank. You don't say if you received an offer of 75% of your charges claim, or 75% of your claim + chargesWage Day Advance, Quick Quid, Pounds to Pocket and Pounds Till Payday....i'm after you0 -

You can ask them for a better settlement figure but they won't pay the interest as this only comes into play if you have started court action as it is awarded by the court. Please read Martin's article and the Reclaim Help Thread regarding claiming the interest.0 -
I started the process back in February and last week I took the final stage of starting the small claims process. My claim is for £326 (£296 plus interest), which isn't the biggest claim in the world but to me is a lot of money.
Two days ago I received a letter from HSBC saying they would offer me a settlement of £295 to cover the charges but would not pay the interest. Had I not paid £50 to start the small claims procedure I would have accepted but I'm annoyed that I only paid this £50 out last week and am really tempted to hold out for the interest plus costs back (if I should win of course!).
I have 14 days to let them know what I want to do. What do you think I should do?
As you have started court action you can go back to them and say you will only settle for your full claim including the interest and your court fees.0 -
I received my offer letter for reclaiming my bank charges at the beginning of the week – of which I sent back accepting. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
However the next day going through my accounts I have realized they have charged me another £75on the 24th of this month and there is due to be another £150 charge on the 24th of next month – however the offer they sent me was only up to and including charges up to the 17th of this month. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
So what I’m wondering is can I actually claim the recent £75 and £150 charges even after I have accepted an offer prior to these charges made?
<o:p> </o:p>
I hope this makes sense.<o:p></o:p>0 -
