    Hi everyone,

I sent off my claim for just over £2000.00 and have received the standard reply a week later. Gonna wait the eight weeks now to hopefully get an offer.

My question is, I have a personal loan with HSBC. Is it likely that if they make me an offer and I accept that they will just use the money to pay off a chunk of the loan?

Surely they can't do this as it is my money they 'stole' in the first place and it's mine to spend as I choose?!

Hiya desperate lou i have to differ with your opinion about the smaller claims getting sorted quicker , our claim is for only £478 and we are in our 12th week of waiting for the offer . We did get a phone call on friday though saying they are going to offer us the full amount but seeing will be beleiving lol .

Good luck everyone with hsbc they are by far the worst bank ever

Well further to my previous post I sent them another chase up message via the e message facility and lo and behold they have also offered me a refund on claim number two, they say both letters are dated 22nd June so not sure when they will arrive, I have 14 day to accept or decline so I hope they dont take too long to get here! I'm off to post on the success thread now.

Good luck to all that are still claiming - my advice, keep calm give them the eight weeks and then start asking them for a progress update. The online message facility worked well for me as I do not have time to wait for them to answer the phone!

  • Hi everyone

I am also trying to reclaim charges from hsbc, it has gone as far as instructing the courts, the judge came back and asked for a full itemised breakdown of charges which I immediately sent, I then received a letter about two weeks ago from the court stating they were deferring my case until the 6th August to give us time to settle out of court.

    What do I do now???

    Thanks alot

Congrats! it's good to hear the success stories off HSBC. E mail does tend to be better than their snail mail
    Well done

Sorry Wood - yes, the court will allocate a date for you - but double check the paperwork from the court to make sure you're doing what you're supposed to!

    Hi Everyone

First post on this topic. Have read a number of pages but I am wondering how long it takes from when the bank files a defence until you receive anything from the Court. My bank filed a defence well over a week ago and I have received nothing from the bank, the bank's solicitors or the court since I was sent a copy of the Acknowledgment of Service on 21 May 2007. Getting a little concerned, particularly as most people seem to have had some sort of contact. Can anyone advice please?

Sorry if this has been asked before!

    Thanks.

    Hi all.

My 'offer' letter for my £2,500 claim with HSBC is due tomorrow.

I am going to call now to make sure they are sending it out.

I am PRAYING they will settle without needing court action.

Anyone else in the same situation?

    Gary

I was first told the 8 weeks was up on the 22nd. Then when I chased they had no record of my claim. An hour later of shouting at them on the phone they found my claim and i was told the 8 weeks is up on the 24th (tomorrow).

I will be screaming at them if my letter isnt here tomorrow. I want my money and then I want to leave HSBC for good.
