Hiya. I was asked by HSBC to send a letter with a breakdown of the charges i wished to get back after they had sent me all the statement, i provided this breakdown totalling £1467.36 on the 26th April. As i heard nothing, i reset this on 29th May. I am still to hear anything. Please can someone advise me on what I should do next

If they have ignored your requests for repayment then I would issue a claim on MCOL, Lloyds did this to me ignored all 3 letters I sent them so I began my court claim against them on 16th May, their ignorance is one of many stalling tactics the banks use,

You need to start by reading Martin's article again for the next template and then read the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature, you'll find all the links you need there.0

Can you tell me how far you had got with your claim against HSBC?? I have got a court date for July.......might give them a call and keep mu fingers crossed!
Thanks
It had been transferred to my local court and I had a date for the 13th August.
Do give them a call, what are you going to lose by trying? I was a bit nervous about ringing them but they're actually really friendly. Don't expect anyone to answer though, leave a message and they'll call you back.0 -
Hi, Can i ask, did you contact the solicitors to negotiate the claim at all? Did you get defence entered and a court date?
Thanks
Hi
I didn't really negotiate with them. I did ring them when i got my first offer from HSBC because the jobs worth at HSBC told me they would talk to me as i'd instigated court proceedings. But after DG had written to me i did ring them and although i don't think anyone has got through to them straight away they are very good at returning your call if you leave a message and from other threads i've read they seem to be OK when you do try to negotiate. I would fax them as well as ringing them. I did most of my stuff via the post but alot of people who've followed up with phone calls and e-mails seem to get their settlement quicker.
Fingers crossed for you

Secondly, I have been offered £810.90 of £861, but this is the claim without interest. I have worked out that the total claim should be £1020.16 with interest. That means they are only offering me 94% of the original claim or 79% of the claim with interest.
Should I accept it, or fight for some more money in a better deal? I was thinking that I would accept 90% of the amounts with interest.
Unless you are in the court process then you're not really entitled to interest, therefore if you're not then I think the offers are good. If you do want to claim interest and go through the court process just bear in mind it will take a lot longer. Of course it's entirely your decision.0 -
I am in exactly the same boat as haychee! I filed my judgement by default on the 5th of June and when I logged on this morning it had been rejected as the HSBC had put in a defence on
Hi
Don't be scared, you'll see from most of the threads the banks aren't going to court and this is just another ploy to wear you down. It's a bit of an old chestnut but patience really is a virtue. Ring their customer services it's worked for some people. But whatever you do don't give up. I started in Feb and only got my offer today (long time compared to what most have achieved) but i have say it was worth the wait.

Claiming £9922
Offered Zilch!
I decided to wait the 8 weeks, which is up tomorrow! I have rang every day this week, to be told the same thing, nothing has been resolved as yet, but an offer letter will be sent out tomorrow!! Should I be hopeful of this or is this fobbing me off??! To be honest I would be happy with £8000 but am fully prepared to take it all the way if I have to. It's only hearing Martin on tv and subsequently reading these threads that has given me the courage to do this, so thank you to everyone, who has taken the Big Boys on and won!Self Combust Society Member  :rotfl:0 -
