If they settle at an early stage now, it could be a few weeks to a month. If they take the process all the way through to a hearing, it could be another two to four months depending on how busy the court is.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Moneyclaim is the online way to issue a court claim. You can choose to use this, or fill in 3 copies of form N1 and go to your local county court to issue a claim. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hi,
I am in the process for reclaiming £1631.00 (without interest) from HSBC, I sent them an email requesting my statements which they sent within approx 4days which was excellent!
I then sent the 1st letter on the 4th Dec, I haven't had a reply so have sent the second letter today giving them 7days from today to respond.
I am slightly worried as I don't yet have another bank account... has HSBC closed anyones accounts?
I am awaiting a reply from an application for a current account with alliance and leicester.
thanks. :-)0 -
I sent off my letter with the charges on 7 December, and yesterday wrote the LBA. This morning I have received a letter from HSBC apologising for delay and saying they will contact me by 7 February.
I do not feel this is acceptable - what do you suggest?0 -
Presumably your letter will have crossed in the post so I would wait and see if they reply to your LBA letter and follow your timescale.0

I too am in the process of claiming from HSBC.
I had no response to my first letter, so threatened court action.
They replied stating that they would be in contact by 1st Feb , way beyond my deadline. This seems to be happening to most people now.
If they don't respond to my timescale I'm not sure whether I should start claim procedures, or wait until their date.
Anyone any experience of how long they take to get back to you?0 -

Always go buy your own deadlines, if the deadlines have now passed for both the first and second letters then you can file a claim."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

I am in the process of reclaiming just over £4,000 from HSBC in bank charges.
I am following Martin's fantastc advice stage by stage and I am now up to strage 4, where I have sent out the second letter requesting a refund and a response within 7 days after I had heard nothing back from stage 3 (the first letter).
Now, they have indeed responded with a fat letter today, but my excitment was soon crushed when I read the contents:
"Thank you for your letter concerning your request for a refund of bank charges. I apologise for not yet having fully completed my investigation. I will contact you again by 2 February 2007 and expect to be able to provide you with a full response at that time."
My question is what does the forum suggest I do now?
Do I wait nearly a month for HSBCs Senior Service Quality Officer to get back to me, OR do I push through with stage 5 and go to court via Moneyclaim....
All advice greatfully appreciated.
Cheers Ben0
