  • Can anyone help please.
I am trying to reclaim bank charges. I have sent of the first two letters using the templates given asking for £1200 back from HSBC. I didn't receive a reply from the first but after the second I got a letter saying that they were looking into it and would reply by 19th Jan. Do I wait until then or do I go ahead with the court bit.

You stick to your timetable and ignore any tactics the bank use to delay you.

Hi, just wondered if anyone could give me some advice please? I filed my claim in court last Thursday and haven't heard anything at all from the court, is this usual? Also when I do receive notification that HSBC's solicitors have rec'd this aswell, do I then fax them my schedule of charges along with my claim number? All help much appreciated.

Stick with your deadlines, as you have not had your money back and the deadline has now passed for the second letter you should file a claim with the courts. You can now claim £1200 +Court costs+ statuatory interest.

I believe that you will be sent some sort of acknowledgment through the post. If you are unsure you should just give the courts a ring, the staff are usually very helpful. Once you receive notification from HSBC's solicitors, its probably best that you either post/fax a schedule of charges with claim no. to them just so that they have no excuses at their end.

    Hello!

I have received a letter back from the service quality team at HSBC - it was a reply back to my first letter requesting that all default charges be paid back to me (with attached list of charges) - their reply....

Thank you for you letter dated........ sorry we have not yet given you a formal reply - i will look into your case regarding charges against you and will reply back by 30th January 2006 (letter dated 4th January 2006)

What should i do now? wait for their reply? or send the next template letter to threaten court action?

obviously this is a standard letter typed to give them more time and also a letter to comply with my 14 day timscale.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think you've more or less answered the question yourself.

They are trying to delay matters, but you will not let them. Proceed with your next letter after the 14 days is up and stick to your timetable.
