Ginger2000 wrote:Hi, i started my claim at the beginning of November.
I sent my first letter via the post, my mistake, i was not a reader of this forum then, i sent my second letter, hand delivered on 22 November, giving them 2 weeks to respond.
I had no response, so sent a letter offering them the chance to pay 75% of the charges and stating my intent to take it to court if i did not hear from them with this offer by the 3rd January, this was sent recorded delivery, which they recieved on 21st December.
I got a letter today dated 29th December, thanking me for my letter dated 22 November, inclosinga leaflet about listening to my comments,.
The letter apologised for not fully completing their investigation and said they would contact me again by 23rd January when they 'expect' to be able to provide me with a full response.
Do i continue as planned and fill in a claim via the moneyclaim site on wednesday 3rd January/. and if so, do i reply to this letter stating i am doing so?
Thanks very much fror any advice
does anyone have any advice? i had said i would file my claim today, should i respond to the letter i recieved as detailed above, informing them i shall continue as planned, just continue, or wait for their response?0 -
Yeah, I see that now.
Before it was, Oh, that's a statement telling me I don't have money. I even left them in their envelopes as I chucked them in the box. I've learnt my lesson!0 -
Sorry, probably sounded holier than thou then, it's probably an age thing0

Just received a reply back from First Direct who have met with our claim but also recieved letter today from Halifax stating they were in their right to charge and have declined our claim.
Slightly confussed by this matter as i thought that the banking regulations would be the same for all banks.
Can anyone help? Should i resend letter to branch and not head office or proceed with the court claim.
Many thanks:mad:0 -

Is the the initial letter you have sent or the second letter? Just follow the step by step guide and use the address thread to send the letters to the correct address.0 -

Just reply to them that you are continuing as planned as its likely their response will be "sorry but no".0 -
What is the general concensus with HSBC, do they generally pay out without much of a fight?
I hand delivered a claim on 15th December and sent a chaser yesterday and still have not heard anything. Although I find their charges hard to believe, they were a long time ago (4-6 years) and since then I have not really incurred any charges so to be honest am just looking for a cheeky payout rather than taking the moral high ground, life or death type attitude.0 -
Hi, I am not sure a quick payout is exactly the term I'd use!!!! BUT..if you follow the guides on here and the consumer action group...send the template letters with the spreadsheets as instructed. Sit back...wait...keep to your dealines ( I didn't but did send a reminder/chaser) and things should go your way!
As for being cheeky.......I would suggets "cheekily" that they TOOK YOUR MONEY without reasonable justification...so they were the CHEEKY ONES!!!
Get what belongs to you.......face it if the boot was on the other foot with mortgage payments I dare say they would have your house without so much as a whimper!0 -
!!!!!!. Does it matter if the Preliminary letter requesting payment was sent to my local branch instead of HSBC HQ. :mad:0

No, they should forward the letter to HQ for you."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"
