Yes you can reclaim this/these charges.

thanks, how would this be paid?
  • I sent my first letter on 29th November but have heard nothing ....... my 2nd letter was due to be sent just before Christmas so I decided to wait until the post was back to normal and people had returned to work.

In the interim they have debited another charge to my account, please can someone confirm that I can add this to the original claim amount ? I have had no response whatsoever from them to date but will fire off the 2nd letter shortly.

    many thanks for your reply

  • For you guys who have either successfully made a claim against HSBC, how long did it take for your statements to arrive, once requested. I'm a rather impatient fellow and would like to get proceedings started ASAP. :D

Hi strangely Brown, I downloaded all of my 6 years from internet banking. I think HSBC is the only one that you can do this with, it saves so much time.
    Good luck with your claim.

  • Lisa, :kisses3: I didn't know i could do that.

    Have a FANTASTIC new year
  • Guess who spent New Years eve going thou 6 years of bank statements on line, nobody could ever say that i don't live life in the fastlane. :D

After doing the math, I'm shocked/appalled that i allowed my account to get into such a state as over the past six years I have accrued £3,840 in bank charges. What concerned me more was that over £1,200 of that was from this year

I'm not proud of this and i certainly don't see this as another "live achievement" but it has enabled me to pull the cord and have a light bulb moment :embarasse
  • Hi

I started a claim about 2 months ago and despite reading everything on here..didn;t follow up within the timescales:embarasse

Anyhow, I received a standard letter with fees leaflet about 2 weeks ago informing me the case was being looked into and i would get a response by 29th! Lo and behold a letter arrived between boxing day and New Year..offering me £1500 from a claim for £2199.
Any advice on whether I should accept or decline. SOME OF THIS WAS MY FAULT FOR RUNNING A POOR FINANCIAL SHIP!!!!
OK practically all of it was!!! So in reality I am keen on the full whack, but they did incur some hassle and 600 over 6 years isn't too excessive!

tempted to say Thanks ....any thoughts?

I am a shocker too.......... Important thing is this has given me a kick up the bum and the money will pay off my overdraft completely and allow me to start a-fresh!!!!! Its like declaring bankruptcy without the unpleasantries and stigma!!!!:rotfl:
  • Bingo, thats exactly what I'm going to use it for, well and our honeymoon :j
  • I would decline the offer and go for the full amount, but thats just my £0.02p worth (with inflation).
