Well done, you must have slipped thru the net as my claim was served on 5th just a few days after yours and HSBC said they were going to file a defence (see above post) but haven't heard from them yet. Just waiting with my finger over the button till the 3rd when I will have won by default (fingers crossed!!)

Good Luck to everyone else claiming from HSBCr*p!!!!!

But despite winning by default, they can apply to the court to have judgement set aside, saying that they never received the claim form. Utter tosh, they received the letters asking for the original amounts and the letter before action, so they knew what we were claiming back. Just stalling tactics. Received a letter today, dated 20th December 2006 offering us the original amount we asked for before court action, too late as court action started on the 1st december, and that offer was in response to a letter dated 31st October.

So do I reply back saying thanks for your offer Mr Langdale but please find enclosed a copy of the judgement and pay up in full within 7 days or else we will send in the bailiffs or do we write to HSBC's legal advisors, DG Solicitors?

    Hey

Bit confused so if anyone can advise id be grateful. Ive just had my statements through from HSBC. I have two questions:

1- Theres something on there im not sure about. The payment type says "CHQ" and the Description just says Cash. Anyone know what CHQ payments are??

2 - I have had in the past temp overdraft limits, which they charge £20 for. Is this claimable?

Ill be sending my letter to them soon to hopefully claim my money back!!CHEERS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP! MERRY XMAS
I've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.

CHQ with description CASH is probably a cheque paid as cash in a branch

And no you cannot claim for the £20 temporary overdraft fee, as it is a fee for a sevice they provided that you asked for.

  • Hi,

HSBC has charged me £30, type is DR, what does that mean? the Description: CHARGE RECALL S/0-D/D. Can I claim this back?

    Thanks
  • After calcualting my charges and interst I sent the 1st letter to my local branch. I hot a letter back yesterday saying they are looking into my claim in more detail and will be in touch again shortly. Is this a stalling technigue? Also it came from registerd office and not my local branch.

Should I send 2nd letter to the contact on the london letter or to my local branch?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just checked https://www.royalmail.co.uk to see if the letter I sent to HSBC requesting 6 years of bank statements had been signed for, and I'm pleased to say it was signed for this morning:j

The clock is now ticking, 40 days and counting.
