I rang them, they are quibbling over a week as it took them a week to log my initial letter so their 8 weeks is from then. Ive said I expect a response by tuesday next week or I will take it further. I asked them for help when I needed it most and they kicked me further and further into the ground so I will NOT let them get away with this.0

The stage I am at, is that the 14 days times scale of the second letter is up and I have had no response off the bank therefore I should now go onto the court stage. I have read on here that other people who are claiming off HSBC have rung the bank to ask how their claim is going before going to court, and some have been made an offer after the 8 week period is up (I dont know when that starts from though) and that HSBC dig their heels in if you take them to court. I dont really know what is the best thing to do now, do I ring them, wait for 8 weeks or take them to court? Can anyone give me some advice on what to do now please? Thanks
hi willenhall,
I did post this on the other thread too,
seems that hsbc start counting the 8 weeks from the day the 1st letter requesting a refund is put on their system, I sent my letter on the 5th march and they had it on their system on the 8th of march, I was all fired up to still to the timescales on this site but unfortunatly due to financial constraint i couldn't anyway when i was in a position to push on i realised it was 7 weeks and reading the threads hsbc did seem to be making offers after the 8 weeks unless it was at the court stage the they seem to get their hard heads on... so thought i'd leave it another week then foned them at the begining of the 9th, and lo and behold they said an offer had been sent and i recieved it two days later, foned them after recieving it to say was not happy with offer and eventually negotiated a figure and i'm just waiting for it to be credited, only did the 1st letter requesting refund.......
Obviously it is your choice as to which route you go but this was my experience of HSBC
Hope this helps...0 -
Hi
HSBC `s solicitors had until today to put in a defence for my claim.I have not heard a single thing from D+G solicitors even though i have left 2 messages on there answer machine asking them to contact me so we can discuss the case.I have tried ringing the court today to see if they have recieved the defence but the phone keeps ringing off (i think they are closed today).will this give D+G another day before i can put in for a default judgement or should i put one in tomorrow morning

Can I claim "total charges" back on an hsbc current account?. I think it would be easier to know what charges I cant claim back.
Anyone out there got a home management account and a current account with hsbc please help.0 -
Does anyone know if offshore banks, i.e. HSBC, Jersey, fall outside the scope for reclaiming charges?0
