Hi all,
i submitted my claim on the 1st May to HSBC giving them 14 days to re-pay my charges.
I received a letter from them on the 9th May stating that they are investigating my claim and will get back to me once they have looked into this.
I phoned them on 30th May and they are claiming that they dont have to offer me anything until 8 weeks from their response.
Is this correct - should I go ahead and make a claim though before that 8 week period - is this HSBC stalling me?
Any advice would be great. I am planning on using Money claim to take this to court.
When i did speak to HSBC they did say that they would make an offer - however once again im not sure if this is another stalling tactick.
Any help would be great0 -
Many thanks, EdinburghLass.
Regards

Hi I am new to this, what a fab site though. I am in the first stage with HSBC to try and reclaim unfair bank charges. After sending a letter to my bank via registered post a month ago I received this message via online banking:
Please be advised that we are unable to provide you with a list of charges that have been applied to your account. However, as previously advised, you can view the charges that have been applied to your account via historic statements option on the Personal Internet Banking (PIB). This is the only format which the bank holds to trace charges that have been applied to your account.
However, please note that we are able to order copy statements. Please confirm via this e-messaging system if you would like these statements ordered for you and I will action your request accordingly.
Is this correct as I sent them a cheque for £10 although this has not yet been cashed. This is all rather confusing for me... Any advice would be greatly welcomed.0 -
Hi Fkelanne,
thanks for your speedy reply. I have already sent them a 14 day letter stating that I want to claim my charges, are you suggesting that I send another before taking this to court.
thanks for your help0 -
Hi,
I recently filed a successful claim with HSBC, but, even since they reduced their charges to the oh-so-reasonable cost of £12 per transaction, I'm still getting charged ridiculous amounts of cash (I know, I know, it's partly my fault  ), has anyone had any success in claiming back these lower charges?
Cheers

You need to read Martin's article and follow the step by step guide in there using the template letters that are given.0
