    Hi All,

I've received my transfer letter but I've not received an allocation questionaire or anything of HSBC's solicitors. What should I do as I've read here that you sort out 3 copies of all correspondence, one for the court, one for yourself and one for their solicitors.... but I don't know who they are.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, S

Hi I am new to this, what a fab site though. I am in the first stage with HSBC to try and reclaim unfair bank charges. After sending a letter to my bank via registered post a month ago I received this message via online banking:

Please be advised that we are unable to provide you with a list of charges that have been applied to your account. However, as previously advised, you can view the charges that have been applied to your account via historic statements option on the Personal Internet Banking (PIB). This is the only format which the bank holds to trace charges that have been applied to your account.

However, please note that we are able to order copy statements. Please confirm via this e-messaging system if you would like these statements ordered for you and I will action your request accordingly.

Is this correct as I sent them a cheque for £10 although this has not yet been cashed. This is all rather confusing for me... Any advice would be greatly welcomed.

You didn't need to order statements - all your 6 years transactions will be visible through HSBC online banking - use the 'My statements' link in the left hand menu to view all your statements and charges.
  • Anyone know if Dg get in contact with you between acknowledging claim and filing their defense? I have heard nothing and they have until the 2 nd June to defend

Not from what I've been reading here. They usually get in contact (requesting a list of charges) some time after they have defended - they love to drag it out. They usually defend at the end of the 28 day period.

You should find DG solicitors address in your copy of the defence - otherwise it will be in this thread somewhere.

Thanks for the info! If only they were as predictable as capital one ..who have paid out on both my cards onday 21 after acknowledging!
  • I'd been thinking about claiming my bank charges back for a while but was half of the opinion that I shouldn't complain, it's my fault for going over my overdraft limit etc etc until today!!! I went over my overdraft limit again this month and thought okay, I'll ring up HSBC to extend it a bit - they were fine with my request but then they told me that I would be charged £25 for extending my overdraft - it took a moment to register before my fury set in - not only had I just been charged £25 for going over my limit but in my genuine attempt to address the situation and up my limit to stop me being charged unnecessarily I was now being charged another £25!!! Where is the logic and justification in that!!! Luckily I'm not in financial dire straits so it's not the end of the world for me but it really makes you think about if you were really struggling with debt how they would just be compounding the problem. I am absolutely livid and will be spending some quality time on my laptop this weekend to work out how to kick off claiming every penny those robbing so and sos have stolen off me over the years. Oh, and by the way, they then had the nerve to ask if I'd be interested in 'upgrading' my account to one where I get charged another £12 per month or something.... unbelievable!!!

You seem to have the misconception that the bank is there to save you money.

In reality they are actually there to keep you in debt and forking out as much money as possible into their coffers.

    Hi,
Just gave my AQ to the court today (with another £100) and a copy to DG. Am I right in saying I now wait for the court to contact me with a date ? Is there any other way of speeding this up a bit, I'm still prepared for the long halul but would prefer to settle quicker if possible.

Im in the same position, received notice of transfer with nothing else to say what i should be doing, so my answer, do nothing except send a well worded nudge letter to DG. I havent heard from the bank or their solicitors since starting the claim and i dont expect to before August! The advice i have been given is to send a nudge letter every 2-3 weeks including your charges summary.

A lot of the judges are taking up the view that the bank are taking the mickey out of the court system and are making it more difficult for them.

Good luck, ill keep you posted

Anyone got a date for Cardiff Civil Court August 14th, Higginbottom i think the judge is?
