Phone calls are a waste of time normally. You get the brush off, you get frustrated, you can't use them as evidence in court unless you record them, and ultimately they aren't likely to deal with you as you are in legal proceedings with them so communications are supposed to go through their solicitors.Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0

Actually I've a feeling with what I've read on the HSBC thread that they are open to telephone negotiation so I'll pop your post in there and you can read back through the experiences of other HSBC users.0

I submitted the DPA request which they claimed they did not recieve, when I told them I would pursue the complaint with the Info Commissioner, then teh guy from HSBC told me to download them. SHortly after this I got all my statements. I calculated the charges and interest and sent the first letter, got the standard "We are looking into it".
The first deadl;ine has just passed. I got home today to find that HSBC had conducted a review of my overdraft and have decided to close it, In all the time I have been with them, I have never had any review, they done this to anyone else? :mad:0 -
First letter sent to HSBC on 28th March, received standard "looking into it" reply on 4th April, sent 2nd letter on 28th April and received nothing. The 8 weeks are up tomorrow (from the date of their letter) so it looks like I'll have to pursue the next step - really hoped it wouldn't come to this. Oh well in for a penny in for a pound!I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0

I spoke to Rob at D G Solicitors yesterday, he was very nice and helpful. He explained that they have no intention of taking me to court but have obviously defended to cover themselves. He said they would be paying all monies, interest and court costs up to date when they get round to my claim. Basically the sooner I get my statements/charges off to them so they can verify them with my account, the sooner I will get my money. He said they wish they could deal with the claims quicker but are unable to due to such a large quantity, it could take about a month.
I thought maybe I will fax my bundle over to them today (the sooner they get it the better) and then also send it recorded delivery.
You may like to do the same.
Sorry this was posted last week (in this thread) but I just saw it and was amazed - if this chap Rob who works for DG told you that HSBC have no intention of proceeding to court this seems amazing and makes their client look more than a tad silly - considering their claims 'we are confident we would resist any legal challenge' etc which they state in their fob off letters. Seriously 10/10 for this post!0 -

I have sent my spreadsheets to DG Solicitors twice!! They are now threatening me with a court order to obtain them, I cant get hold of anyone by telephone andmy court date is 15 June. They state they have requested this numerous times but I have only had one request. Does anyone have an mail address for them?
By the way is it REALLY my responsibility to provide this information?
I have phoned DG Solicitors many times and faxed them and received follow up calls from them every time. I don't know why you are having such difficulty in getting hold of someone but if you try faxing them your spreadsheets (on 0121 455 2150) and don't have any joy then perhaps you could try faxing HSBCs service quality team on 01132 766202 explaining your situation. If you keep receipts of all faxes and proof of delivery of all your postage then I don't see why you should be held accountable if they can't sort themselves out. Also I would send an e-message online if you have internet banking.
Bombard them with faxes and calls then surely you should get a reply from somewhere!! Good luck0 -
Same problem here. I've left 3 messages for DG and not had a call back. Seems they might start being as stubborn and unhelpful as HSBC.0
