I am having the same problem. I've got 0121 455 2701. Is there anyone else at the bank we can call?
  • I sent my first letter off and got a reply saying it was being looked into. Gave them the 8 weeks to look into it, no reply so today i got my second letter ready to send. Got in from work and ive received an offer, a little less than I asked for but they say one of the charges I entered in my original letter was incorrect so have taken it off what I asked for which is fair enough.

good luck everyone else! thanks for all the help!!

    HELP!!
Have done the preliminaries- written to them twice (no reply), and have now filed through MCOL. I am claiming £2036 from two accounts. They have 28 days from 11 May to file a defence.
HOWEVER, today I received a letter from them:
"I have calculated the charges that we are prepareed to refund you as a gesture of goodwil, as I have not yet received your own calculation [i sent them a month by month breakdown of charges.] The total of your bank charges passed from July 2004 up to and including 27 April 2007 was £30.00."
WHAT?!?! That is SO wrong! The details on my statements say- "charges as notified" What are they doing? I am happy to accept a decent offer- but £30??
Has anyone else had this sort of letter from HSBC? It goes on to say..
"The circumstances in which the fee will apply are set out in our Personal Banking terms and conditions which you have already received. If your claim for a refund proceeded to court, we therefore believe we would successfully resist any legal challenge in relation to these fees."

Are they trying to scare me off? I don't like this game...

I sent off the first letter to HSBC Mastercard detailing all charges. Have received replu today saying that although they have dropped their charges since the OFT enquiry they are not prepared to refund any previous charges. Is it worth carrying on - Has anyone else had refunds from this part of HSBC.

Also I have Bank of Scotland preference account who are still charging the £25, can anything be done about this. I sent for my statements from these recorded delivery almost 2 weeks ago but the royal mail website is not yet showing proof of delivery.

    Any advice appreciated

Nah, it's not worth carrying on... after all they said they didn't want to give you the money.

I wonder how many people give up at that first, very low hurdle.
Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.

    Hi
I have sent my spreadsheets to DG Solicitors twice!! They are now threatening me with a court order to obtain them, I cant get hold of anyone by telephone andmy court date is 15 June. They state they have requested this numerous times but I have only had one request. Does anyone have an mail address for them?
By the way is it REALLY my responsibility to provide this information?
  • There's a fax number on the top of their letters - try faxing it to them.
