I have been going through the process with HSBC for the last 8 weeks now. They filed a full defence through their solicitors DG (stating pretty much that charges are reasonable and outlined in the t&c's) and it has been transferred to my local county court.
I am just about to get onto the county court and ask if i need to fill out an allocation questionaire......two quick concerns really -
1) will i need to pay any money at this point??!
2) If i lose at court will have to pay any costs (other than the 120 i paid to mcol).
I don't mind seeing this through but do not want to have to pay HSBC's costs to defend this?!!
Please help ease my mind as for the fist time in the process I feel a little edgy!!
thanks......0 -

Bank: HSBC
Amount Claimed:2173.48 + interest
Offer: 2173.48
Story: sent
1st letter 01.03.07
2nd letter 15.03.07 then several faxes, email and phone calls.
Received offer
£1800.00 19.04.07
Rang and asked how they came to that figure they said it was just an offer. I asked why they didnt just refund my charges as opposed to going to court and paying costs ontop of charges they said yes ok.
2nd Offer
£2173.48 04/05/07
Received money in my account today 12 days from HSBC receiving my acceptance of offer letter.

Hi Vicky,
I have just successfully claimed back my charges from HSBC and like yourslef it took a while. However, i did phone them before i decided to take it to court and they informed me that due to such a high volume of queries at the moment they were working on an eight week process. I did decide to give them this time to see what happened and true to there word at eight weeks (give or take a few days) i got my letter saying they would refund me (actually more than i aksed for!!).
Hope this helps and good luck.0 -
