I was expecting an offer from HSBC on 21/5 however I got a letter from them Sat morn in the post saying they wont have finished the investigation until 18/6. They will have gone well over the 8 week limit they set by then what should I do next??
Hope u guys can help me?
Did they say their reply would contain an offer or are you just assuming that?
Follow your timescale and if you have already done so, send the letter to say you next step will be to take them to court.0 -
hi i am claiming against HSBC and they have acknowledged the claim via mcol.
i have about 14 days left to go. but have received a letter from HSBC yesterday telling me that in reply to my letter asking for a refund in march they have know been advised im claiming and all correspondence will now be through their solicitors. its scared me a bit thinking they are not going to give in, has anyone else had one of these???
thanks to anyone who can reply0 -
I have sent the original letter claiming £1680 from HSBC and I've received a fairly standard reply, "I am looking into the matters you have raised and will contact you with a full response as soon as I have completed my investigations." Is this a stalling letter and should I send the more threatening letter?0

hi everyone
this is the first time ive posted. i am claiming against hsbc via mcol and hsbc have acknowledged it and i know have about 14 days to go till the next stage. i received a letter from them yesterday saying that they have been advised that ive made a claim and allcorrespondence will know be through their solicitors. is this letter normal??? has anyone else had one?? as it has scared me a bit, thinking that they are intending to fight me all the way!!0 -
Which is exactly what it is meant to do.
It's perfectly normal to have all correspondence go through the solicitor when legal proceedings have started. You watch though, I'll just bet you get further letters direct from the bank and not from the solicitor.Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0 -
Need a bit of advice really!!!
Over a month ago my boyfriend (well i sorted it all out!!) sent HSBC the first letter asking to be refunded £1400, includung interest. On the 13th day we received a letter back from them that they were looking into it blah blah blah. After another 14 went by we still hadn't heard any more.
At this point we went away and didn't do anything - foolishly! When we returned we sent the second letter again informing that if they didn't reply within the next 14 days we would take them to court. Its now been over 14 days and we haven't heard anything.
I'm beginning to think that its because we didn't keep to the timescale ourselves, that they think we aren't serious - don't blame them really!!!!
What shall we do now???0 -

Stick to your timescale!!
God knows how long their "investigation" will takeNATWEST Amount Claimed £2860 Amount Received £2860
CLYDESDALE FINANCIAL SERVICES Amount Claimed £85.00 Amount Received £42.500 -

You follow the timescale in Martin's article and send out the next letter on day 15. Please read the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.0
