I phoned HSBC earlier this afternoon and got a very shiRty girl on the other end of the phone, I was trying to explain that it wasnt satisfactory that my 8 weeks were up today, post had been and nothing, so I would like to speak to a manager. She told me that she would put my name forward to a manager but wouldnt be contacted before the end of the week. She also accused me of shouting, getting angry and not listeneing to what she was saying... when she was the one interupting me and getting snotty with me.... she changed her attitude when I took her name and told her I was reporting the case to the financial ombudsman.

Phoned the FO waited about 2 minutes, spoke to somebody who gave me a reference number and told me to send all relevant forms to them and they would take the matter up for me......

Finally out of my hands, I can't be doing with it anymore......

Anybody whose waiting 8 weeks, don't hold your breath, HSBC say they are running at least 2 weeks behind, due to a surge of claims because of all the media coverage....

just had a cal from hsbc and they have told me to wate one more week and they will reply to my complante in full . but there 8 weeks are up to day, does bank holiodays count during those 8 weeks? iam very tempted to send off the court letter tomorrow but that will proberly delay things even more. what should i do now ?

No-one can tell you what to do, it your choice at the end of the day...
My experience of HSBC is posted above no 2789, personally I would wait the extra week as they said to me that they just want to clear the claims up, suppose it depends on who you deal with, but i only ended up sending the first letter and waiting although if I had had the cash I probably would have gone straight into claiming, glad I didn't...

Im putting my claim in the hands of the ombudsman as cant be bothered anymore.... its pretty easy to do, just give them a call 08450801800, they answered in a couple of minutes, they'll give you a reference number as you give them your name and a few details, then they'll either send you the form or you can print it off the website, fill it out and send it to them.... they do all the rest!!!!

    Hi Everyone.

I posted a couple of weeks ago to say I'd be loitering around and I've finally got my court date of 14th August. Thing I'm concerned about - I've not had an allocation questionnaire but the court papers say that the judge has "considered the statements of case and allocation questionnaires filed". Is this normal practise now?

    Thanks in advance.

That's what i can only believe it's the total charges they are talking about, i can't think of anything else. Anyway i rang to speak to a manager about my offer and was informed that i would be called back within the next hrs hopefully i can haggle him for a bit more.

I will keep you and all informed of my progress:A
I called them last Friday to say today was 8 weeks, acceptance form for £2622.00 arrived on Tuesday[yesterday]I called HSBC at 1130 this morning to speak to a manager about my offer informed manager was busy someone will call me within 48 hours, i got a call at 02:PM today the service manager called me i asked him what was the overdraft interest they refused to pay he stated overdraft interest is actually the 8% interest, i told him that that i could claim that if i went to court and HSBC had only offered me £2622  and they had taken £3295.50 from me. He then said he would offer me £3292.50 i said i would settle for £3320.00 informing him that on the 8/5/07 they took another charge of £25.00 he said his final would be £3317.50 with this i said deal:D :j :p . He said i should receive my new acceptance form by Saturday the latest. Thanks everyone :A ,:money: your my number 1:beer:

Has anyone asked DG solicitors for a full breakdown of what it costs HSBC to bounce cheques etc? wondered what the response to that request would be

lol I was going to ask them for a breakdown of how they get their charges, (they keep asking us for a complete list and breakdown of ours) so why shouldnt we ?? their solicitors have asked a lot of people at court stage for a list of charges so surelly we can ask them for one to use in our case ???
