Hi All!
Good news and bad news - i received an offer yesterday to settle my claim on the joint account, only £300 less than total with interest, so have sent off acceptance form and look forward to receiving a cheque:beer:
However on my solo account, they have made an offer, but said a cheque will be sent to collection agency:mad: Am currently trying to get clarity on the rules of "set off" so i can argue against it. Anyone had same experience and successfully argued against monies being sent to an agency?
Good luck everyone, keep going!
Cheers0 -

I had an overdraft with HSBC for £850 which went to a debt collection company just before I started the charges back process. Basically part of my offer (£2300 from claim of £2519) was on the condition that they would pay £850 off and send me a cheque for the balance.
THey said cheque would be 14 days , its now day 7HSBC Claimed £2519 , Paid £2300 - cheque recieved
Capital One Claimed £300 , £144 offered , court threat 09/05
Halifax Credit Card - Statements requested
Halifax Current Account - Statements requested
Black Horse Loan - Statements requested
Halifax Mortgage - Need to do next0 -

i sent off for mine 7 days ago. how long did it take for peoples statements to come back? could HSBC customers send in their times please? i understand it can take up to 40 days.
many thanks,
mike.
Mine took pretty close to the 40 days, but they wrote to me to say that they had destroyed the £10 cheque (because they don't charge for providing the information) and that the information would be coming by way of duplicate statements. I did actually ask someone at the bank about why I had only received about two thirds of the statements initially, but they told me that they could only request a certain number of statements per day per account.
The remainder of the statements arrived a couple of days later.0 -
Got my offer letter through today. I claimed 1320.50 plus interest came to 1734.12. They have offered 1122.00 which is about 90% of claim without interest. Not sure if I should take or fight. Ultamatly am not entitled to interest as am not a court so it would mean fighting over 198.50. What does everyone think? The will to save every money saving penny we can0

:T I think it's a good offer, perhaps you could do a bit of haggling over the phone alot of people have dragged a bit more out of them that way. But if you have no joy there then I would be pleased with what you've achieved.
Well done, it was worth the wait.:D0 -
I received my cheque from HSBC today for £1,505. I still have an account open with them and a Managed Loan but requested that they pay me by cheque. Didn't think they would but received it today!! 9 days after I sent the offer letter back to them. Request a cheque if you want one - you never know!!
