HSBC filed a defence today, 1 day defore deadline !!! Is it worth ringing DG to try and get a settlement before our day in court ? Anyone done this ?
Thanks.0 -
I dont know whether to ring DG or not either, read on here this morning that its probably best to write to them, they defended mine at the last minute as well. Haven't heard anything from DG or HSBC since claim started0

the bank has intended to defend the claim (HSBC)
is this just a stalling tactic
and what are the pitfalls for me0 -
Really worried!
Court acknowledged claim of £1,068.48 - HSBC intend to defend
However same day HSBC sent letter offering £909.45, mention overdraft interest ( sure we did not ask for this, only used interest calculator on bank charge amounts is this correct?) refuse interest and say they feel it is inappropriate. Due to court fees £120 + interest lost should we pursue or not? HSBC sent acceptance letter to sign:confused. Should we respond to bank's letter in any way?0 -
If i was you Minnie i would carry on with the court claim you will get all your money back that way , but it is entirely upto you if you need the money asap . But if you carry on you will get all your money back and the interst and the £120 court fee you have paid .
Good luck minnie0 -
Hi everyone
I am chasing HSBC for £1200 inc interest and have followed Martin's tips upto lodging a claim on moneyclaim. HSBC have responded saying that they will defend all claims I have made. I am concerned about this and I notice that templates for moneyclaim on other sites seem to include a lot more info than Martin's does, for example past cases etc. Is it a mistake to use Martin's basic one? Also I found this googling for DG solicitors:
'Litigation Team
HSBC Invoice Finance has a recovery and dispute resolution operation based in
Birmingham. Within this facility there is a dedicated litigation team of solicitors and
legal executives who specialise in commercial debt recovery.
The litigation team operates in the name of “DG Solicitors” but is a dedicated “in-
house” unit. As DG Solicitors use the same systems as we do, we offer a seamless
transition to issue legal proceedings, if necessary'
So DG solicitors is actually HSBC, and they have access to the same IT system as the rest of HSBC, so why are they asking claimants to supply details of charges etc?
Many thanks for you help0 -
Hi all - can you please help
I was expecting an offer from HSBC on 21/5 however I got a letter from them Sat morn in the post saying they wont have finished the investigation until 18/6. They will have gone well over the 8 week limit they set by then what should I do next??
Hope u guys can help me?0 -
Hi everyone,
I have received payment from Barclays for full amount requested £325.00.
I used the templates from this website and received replies from Barclays saying that they are in their right to charge what they do because when i set up the account i agreed to their terms and conditions, so basically it's tough. The second reply from Barclays said that they wouldn't be able to deal with my claim within my time frame, so when the time did come (2 weeks were up) i sent the next letter.
But when i sent them the letter saying i am prepared to go to court they sent letter back saying that they are still in their right but they have credited the requested amount into my account as a goodwill gesture.:rotfl:
The banks will try and stall the claims so that they can gain interest from the money before they pay it out.
I have also got a claim going on with Halifax but it's not at the same stage yet as it took longer to get off the ground so will see how that goes, just hope it's as easy as the other one hey.
Good Luck to every one out there and just sit tight and don't give in, the banks will fold before you do ! (well that's what i keep telling myself anyway) lol0 -

If you are using Money Claim you are limited to size so I don't see that any other template for MCOL can include a lot more info. You'll find a post in the Reclaim Help Thread with the POC for filing using MCOL and a longer one for filing at your local court.

If the solicitors ask for the details of charges, send them as per this thread.
