Stick to your time scale from the 3rd. the 9th will prob be when the letter was put on the system as I have found there is a delay. Send the letter to the above leeds address (up the post) and do send the one threatening court action. It is then up to you if you wait the 2 weeks after the 2nd letter and the file court action or wait 8 weeks. Court action will take longer then 8 weeks but you will prob still have to chase HSBC at the end of that. The will to save every money saving penny we can0

And dont worry about not recieving a letter about the 2nd A/C, just send the 2nd letters about both A/C. I havent recieved any corrispondance yet and am 6 weeks down the line! Just if you are going down the 8 week route call them after 2 weeks from the letter you are about to send to confirm they have them and at what date they have the claim as being filed, then you know when your 8 weeks are up. ;-)The will to save every money saving penny we can0

I have written to hsbc to claim back my charges on an account i closed over 1 year ago. i wrote on the 29th march asking for statement copies. they haven't cashed the cheque and nor have they sent the statement copies. so.... as i type this i am on hold (08456028006) listening to this dreadfull hsbc theme tune and find it so infuriating. has anyone else waited over 40 days ?
i know that the ico is next step but was hoping they would bite the bullet and cooperate!!!
Thanks Guys, just having a moan.......Council tax :0( £12000 -

Hi
I'm about to reclaim my bank charges from First Direct, for years I have accepted these charges as my fault for mismanaging my current account overdraft, often being charged for going £20 over my £500 limit. Since I realised I don't have to pay these charges, I always dispute any new charges and they always refund. But I want the money back that they have extorted from me over the years! I also want to move account because I think HSBC are an elitist bank and I don't want to bank there any more (they are charging me £10 a month for my current account because I don't earn enough money!). Can I still claim my charges back even if I have moved account and closed my account with them?0 -

I waited just short of 2 months (about 50 days if I remember correctly) to receive my statements. They returned the cheque uncashed and I received the statements in about twenty separate envelopes. Luckily, I had already found my statements online by that point so the hard copies were useless by the time they arrived but hey, at least they turned up eventually.
I recommend you hang tight for a couple of more weeks, if you can afford to wait that long.
[EDIT] Sorry, didn't read the bit about them not having received the letter. I find that hard to believe. They probably know why you want the statements and it sounds like they are using delay tactics. When I sent for my statements, I used recorded delivery so I know that they had received the letter.0 -
After sending my first letter to reclaim my charges last week, I received a letter today from HSBC from the Service Quality Team in Leeds saying that they are looking into the matters raised in my letter and will contact me with a full response once they have completed their investigations.
My question is: What next? are they trying to stall my claim? How long do you recommend I hang on for befrore sending the second letter warning of court action if the charges are not reimbursed?
Many thanks
