I Sent Hsbc A letter asking for my last 6 years bank statements and I still have Not had anything after 3-4 weeks.
Whats my next step?0 -
clairelouise,
My statements took about 6 weeks to arrive, even thenn they sent them in 2 seperate envelopes, 2 days apart. Good thing is , they also return your cheque and don't charge you for them. I got fed up of waiting and got my statements online, try that.0 -
Hello all,
I have just hit my 41st day since the day ( 30th March ) that First Direct signed for my 1st recorded letter, i got a letter back on the 19th of April with return of the 10 pound cheque advising me they would send on the statements, this has not happened yet.
Questions i have are:
1) are they now in breach of the Freedom of information act? should i report them?
2) should i call them and advise them of this and ask what is going on?
I did see a letter on here which i now cant find, somone had written one to their bank advising them that they will be taken to court?
Not sure what to do next really as it seems its going to take well over 40 days to get the info i require, should i just spend the next 2 hours going through all my charges online? id rather have a breakdown from them as its my right to have it from them?!
thanks in advance!

As the bank would probably send you copy statements that you need to go through anyway and note down all the charges that you can claim. Even if this was sent in list form you would still need to go through that and work out the charges that you can claim.
Please see the Reclaim Help Thread, link in my signature, for a basic start guide and list of charges that you can and can't claim.0 -

If anyone is going to contact them soon can they ask for a fax number. Though that may work better then a normal letter. The will to save every money saving penny we can0 -
The deadline for my allocation questionnaire to be completed was 30th April. I sent it in before then. I called the courts on Monday to find out whether I had a hearing date yet. They mentioned that HSBC had not filled in the questionnaire yet  I pointed out the deadline was on the 30th, and that things needed to be moved on. The woman claimed that my claim should have moved to the next stage, and she did not know why it had not been actioned. She claimed she would do it, right away. If anyone is waiting out there, I suggest you ring the courts to check where your claim is, or you could be waiting forever. I want this over with, as I started this process at the end of January.0

Yes you are within your rights to request them but personally i would do it online as it is much quicker.
You have instant access to the details you need rather than waiting for the post and if first direct online banking is the same as hsbc all the charges will be highlighted in red making it much easier/quicker to find them.
All the best

Hi All
Inspired by the many success stories on here I sent my first letter to HSBC 2 weeks ago asking for charges back. Had the standard reply from Colin Langdale (is he a real person??) Just about to send the second threatening court action. Is it best to send that letter to my branch or to Colin Langdale?
Thanks
I was advised by the charges team to send all correspondence directly to them

Send the second letter to the quality service team in leeds then w8 your 8 weeks from the second letter. If you sent the first letter to branch then make sure the 2nd goes to leeds as I have read of people calling leeds after 8 weeks only to be told that their original letter never made it to them.
Cheers for this Fliss M. But just to be clear I have sent the letter asking for statements and got them back, I have then sent the letter asking for my charges back to my branch and got a standard reply. So the next letter would be the one saying that I am not happy with the response and threaten court action. Is this the one that I need to send to leeds. Cheers0
