hello peeps i'm back! Foot101 - Fantastic news! Should give hope to people receiving less than acceptable first offers. Eyeball - Hopefully not much longer to wait.
Northernbird - Just about to find out what to do with my bundle. Will take a look and get back to you on this thread. It's basically a covering statement and COPIES NOT ORIGINALS of all your correspondnece and calculations that the court will need. They'll send copies to HSBC and you should receive copies of their bundle - if they file it. When is your date? Your payment should be made a few days before the court date. Exciting stuff now...Lou0 -
HSBC defended my claim last Thursday, i would have received judgement on the 8th May, typical!
I have not heard anything from HSBC since acknowledgement on 12th April so this morning i have sent an e-message requesting that they ring me to discuss a settlement so as not to waste any more of the courts time. Dyou think this is the next step or is it a case of just waiting now??
Thanks0 -
Northernbird:
Take a look at this link:

Go to the main web page and enter all your charges onto the spreadsheet. It will calculate interest for you too if you're claiming that.Lou0 -
Hello,
I was going to lodge my claim with the courts today for nearly £1000 I'd love HSBC to refund me!
I have gone through all the stages suggested here, with the first letter acknowledged by the bank on the 12th of April.
I thought I'd check with the HSBC Service Quality team before lodging the claim to see if they'd sent any offers. They say they are working to FSA guidelines and at the moment it's taking the full eight weeks to respond to claims, but when they do it will be a full and final amount.
Should I wait until the 6th of June, which the very helpful HSBC manager gave me as their deadline, or should I go ahead with the claim?
I really want at least the charges minus interest and won't accept less because they really stuffed me around (I've changed banks to Natwest and haven't been charged in the two years since!). Are HSBC likely to offer me the full amount? Or should I go ahead with the MoneyClaim now to speed things up (I could really do with the cash as I have my sister's wedding overseas to get to!)?Got £820 back from HSBC! Now entering comps like mad with the hope of winning a nice long holiday....0 -

This is a really frequent question. Its entirely up to you. They DO offer an amount after 8 weeks and, in my case, it was only about £150 less than i wanted. I waited cos I couldn't afford court and court tends to drag it out to an even longer process and will cost you (although you get this back)
Its personal preference really, but HSBC WILL get back to you qwith an offer - just keep reminding them about you!A&L - 1st letter requesting money sent 22/03

We started all this at beginning of February stuck to our timescales and got nowhere. Filed on MCOL and HSBC filed defence just after I'd clicked on judgment by default (funny that!!) Got rejection of judgment letter and transfer to local court but since then absolutely nothing! zip. nicht!! I wrote a letter to DG solicitors saying that we would settle for £x because we were "mindful of the vast quantity of claims which were ongoing".....thought that the courts would look at this favourably with someone taking the initiative and trying to stop wasting valuable court time etc... but we've heard nothing. Worried that we might have had a letter but its got lost don't want to miss my day in court!! ( not that it should get that far, although I didn't think it would get this far!! ) So should I ring the court or just sit tight?
