Finally got the offer from HSBC in the post, 8 weeks and 5 days , was alot of messing about with calls after 8 weeks as they kept telling me conflicting things over the phone.

    Claimed £2636 (no interest)
    Offered £2096.10

They said £117.50 had been previously refunded which is fair enough.

I've no idea why they have shaved off the other £480 though.

Is it worth trying to get this back ? Obviously I'd rather have this amount than 2 months of court but still cheeky taking almost 500 quid.

It has done my nut a fair few times this process , but patience is the key , it does come good

    Cheers guys

Update on my success above , called this am , asked for manager to call back and received a call back in under 2 hours.

Haggled back and forth for a bit and they have agreed to meet in the middle

The phone number and e-mail address is in the contact details on site, you want the number for complaints in Leeds. Its 08456028006. U can e-mail but I have done that twice now still have no reply. They got my second letter and signed on the 28 march and I have had no reply ether. Your best bet is calling, but be ready for a w8. I have read of people waiting 2 hrs on hold. By the sounds of it, it is a small centre so just hope you catch them in a slow period. I dont know myself yet as its my husbands account and I after signing some papers I was a trustee of the account, but the records were not updated whan I called the main centre number so now its locked. With the 8 week date looming its starting to feel like their doing it on perpose so I cant call. (My husband has nether the time nor nowse to deal with them!)

thanks for that i'll give them a ring first before i file with mcol

i know this must be a question thats been asked and answered over and over.

just got my statements back from HSBC and i'm now working my way through each one,i have come across some fee's and charges i'm not sure what i can and cant reclaim.

    can i reclaim.
    1.overdraft fee's
    2.excess overdraft fee's
    3.account fee's
    4.total charges for the month.

am i right in saying i cant reclaim the interest on the overdraft???

i know its lame but just cant seem to find a def answer been looking for hours...

Call them and threaten to take further action.

I sent my acceptance off last wednesday recorded delivery and they got it last thursday. My form told nme i should expect to wait 14 days - it looks like they are quite busy with all this, but to wait 3 weeks is unacceptable, so call them and see what they have to say.
