just out of interest when did u start your claim mine started 1st april and the only response ive had from them is a reply to my weekly emails that i keep sending them.
I sent my first letter off on 9th march (Friday), they received on Tuesday 13th. had initial response within 2 wks, saying they had 8 weeks to respond. Heard nothing more until I called them to ask what is happening (had in the meantime sent the second letter - if you don't pay, court action etc), they seem to work to their own 8 wk timetable and said an offer letter will go out today. by the way, the 8 wks they quote seems to be 8 'real' weeks, not 8 weeks based on working days.0 -
Hi,
I have a HSBC current account and would like to claim back several months overdraft charges, equating to around £125 a month.
I also have an;
HSBC loan, which has 5 more monthly payments left.
HSBC credit card which has a balance of around £1500.
If the bank do repay my overdraft charges, there is the likelyhood of my bank account being closed. If this happen, can they close or request immediate repayment of my loan and credit card balances too?
Thanks.0 -
thanks for repling to me. what do you suggest about them classing my 8wks from the 24th instead of the 2nd? shall i calculate my 8 wks then give them a ring when its up? or should i go with their 8 wks which started on the 24th?
TIA Becky.
that is pretty rubbish , do you have a signed receipt of when they received it ?
I had similar thing in that I sent all my correspondance to my branch so they argued that their 8 weeks was in fact from when they recieved it and not the branch....this obviously cost me about 3/4 days.
I would maybe say ring them up and ask for a manager to call you back , I've had this twice and was called back twice from someone who new what they were doing and wern't just taking the calls palming us off . Worth a go with your discrepancy , you never know
otherwise..
I would prob still advise to be patient , they do seem to be getting offers out which are up for a bit of haggling once you got it,
.
Incidently , I threatened court several weeks before my offer and it didnt make any difference at all , you just have to weigh up whether you can wait the extra time but probably get the interest or whether you sit tight and hopefully get a decent offer in ultimately less time
Good luck , It will come good , it just feels like a shed loadsa hassle at the moment. Hang in there !HSBC Claimed £2519 , Paid £2300 - cheque recieved

1. HSBC acknowledged claim
2. HSBC filed a defence
3. HSBC's solicitors requested full details of the charges that I was claiming for, which I duly faxed to them.
4. I completed the Allocation Questionnaire and sent it with my fee to the County Court.
5. Having not heard anything for a couple of weeks, I rang the court to find that HSBC had not sent in a completed AQ by the deadline and the case went to the judge for decision.
6. Two weeks later I have now received a court hearing date!!!
Do I need to do anything prior to the hearing? I've read references to a 'bundle' - what is that? I have to prepare as if I'm going to court and I'm booking the day off work to go, but I'm pretty freaked now. Should I be doing anything?
Can anyone please help with my query?Lightbulb moment - October 2005

Dont stress...
Do a search for the bundle in this thread - you'll find a link to a page. I think its just a bundle of paperwork that you've sent/received etc, so all your letters/responses. Although i'm just speculating.
Also, i wouldnt worry about court, just keep in touch with your local court, they should be able to talk you through what might happen, but even if you prepare and take the day off, HSBC wouldn't turn up.
Stay calm, thats what i'd do.
Sorry i can't help more, but there will be plenty of others who have been through this.A&L - 1st letter requesting money sent 22/03

I suppose shouldnt be complaining if they had said 7 days but paid 14 i would be really mad, at least they have stated 14 days
however
i will state 7 working days on the letter as that is what i was told over the phone when we agreed on a settlement figure.
All the best with yours hope its not the full 14 days to wait0 -

i sent my claim to HSBC on 12th march , heard nothing by 26th March so sent LBA . As of today 9 th May still not received acknowledgement even tho the LBA has been received i sent it recorded delivery . I am now taking it thru the financial ombudsman as HSBC are breaching their own policies for one and its FREE .0
