    Hiya,

HSBC have filed defence... how long does it tend to take from this point?? do I now just need to wait till I hear from the court?? I'm moving house on May 18th so not sure what to do.... is it likely to be sorted by then or am I gonna be waiting weeks on end? not really sure what the most likely outcome is from this point... getting a bit worried that I've just wasted my money and aren't gonna get anything back... thanks in advance for any help

I am new to this site and forum's in general. I have spent ages this afternoon trying to find the answer to my quesion which i am sure has been answered before but I can't find any info anywhere.

I have claimed £4500 from HSBC which included interest. They have offered £3,300 which is minus the interest and some of the charges they feel they don't need to pay.

Should I persue the payment for interest from HSBC?
Has anyone else had this problem and got the interest too?
    Or should I just settle?

    HELP

    Thanks

Entirely up to you mate! But if that amount is not including the interest (which you wouldn't be entitled to claim until you pursue it through court) and "a couple of charges" I think your doing pretty well!

I accepted an offer of 85% of what I was asking for on my personal account but they only offered 65% of the 5k I was claiming on the joint account so Newcastle county court here we come......

The phone number and e-mail address is in the contact details on site, you want the number for complaints in Leeds. Its 08456028006. U can e-mail but I have done that twice now still have no reply. They got my second letter and signed on the 28 march and I have had no reply ether. Your best bet is calling, but be ready for a w8. I have read of people waiting 2 hrs on hold. By the sounds of it, it is a small centre so just hope you catch them in a slow period. I dont know myself yet as its my husbands account and I after signing some papers I was a trustee of the account, but the records were not updated whan I called the main centre number so now its locked. With the 8 week date looming its starting to feel like their doing it on perpose so I cant call. (My husband has nether the time nor nowse to deal with them!)

Finally got the offer from HSBC in the post, 8 weeks and 5 days , was alot of messing about with calls after 8 weeks as they kept telling me conflicting things over the phone.

    Claimed £2636 (no interest)
    Offered £2096.10

They said £117.50 had been previously refunded which is fair enough.

I've no idea why they have shaved off the other £480 though.

Is it worth trying to get this back ? Obviously I'd rather have this amount than 2 months of court but still cheeky taking almost 500 quid.

It has done my nut a fair few times this process , but patience is the key , it does come good

    Cheers guys

I had exactly the same thing but kept ringing and messaging and finally got a call back from HSBC and they agreed to pay all my bank charges back minus interest. Getting the full amount of bank charges back was easy he just said yes it was getting them to return my call that took the time.............keep on trying dont give up you will get it................GOOD LUCK
