phoned hsbc today and after being on hold for over 30 mins i finally got to speak to someone! he basically said that they had 8wks to respond from 24th April,i sent my first on the 2nd?! but he says they didnt recieve this even though i checked on the royal mail site and it was delivered grrr! he said he would chase it up for me but it will still be around a 5/6 wks wait from today and i'm not happy with this at all as it should only be 4wks tops! i'm kicking myself now as i should of said so much more to them! so i decided to send an email rather than phone back and waste more money on them! i've said that i'm not happy with what i've been told so therefore i what them to respond within 2 days or i will be taking my claim to court and i will also be adding interest to the claim. So what does everyone think i should do? go with mcol if they dont respond within 2 days or just wait the 5/6wks and see what they have to say? hmm decisions decisions!! i could really do with the money sooner rather than later!

looking over my statements i noticed some of these charges (TEMP LIMIT CHARGE)about 20 notes each time.
am i able to claim these back?
i've looked at the help thread for what you can and cant claim but did'nt see them on the list.
thanks jase0 -
Having filed a claim on-line the following has now happened (in this order):
1. HSBC acknowledged claim
2. HSBC filed a defence
3. HSBC's solicitors requested full details of the charges that I was claiming for, which I duly faxed to them.
4. I completed the Allocation Questionnaire and sent it with my fee to the County Court.
5. Having not heard anything for a couple of weeks, I rang the court to find that HSBC had not sent in a completed AQ by the deadline and the case went to the judge for decision.
6. Two weeks later I have now received a court hearing date!!!
Do I need to do anything prior to the hearing? I've read references to a 'bundle' - what is that? I have to prepare as if I'm going to court and I'm booking the day off work to go, but I'm pretty freaked now. Should I be doing anything?Lightbulb moment - October 2005

I would prob advise to be just a little bit more patient, if you go mcol route you could be adding a couple months on. HSBC do however seem to be mostly good to their word of 8 weeks.
I claimed £2600 and when the 8 weeks was nearly up I started ringing everyday chasing up , I asked a manager to call me when it went over 8 weeks and to be fair to them , 1 did call back.
8 weeks and 5 days i got offer of £2096 , I then rang back today and have got this increased to £2300 (they apparently previously refunded some charges over the 6 years)
My advice for what its worth would be hang in there and get on it nearer the 8 week timescale.HSBC Claimed £2519 , Paid £2300 - cheque recieved
Capital One Claimed £300 , £144 offered , court threat 09/05
Halifax Credit Card - Statements requested
Halifax Current Account - Statements requested
Black Horse Loan - Statements requested
Halifax Mortgage - Need to do next0 -
Hi all!
Am waiting patiently to receive an offer letter from HSBC (mainly as don't have money for MCOL until end of month), I was told I would recieve an offer letter in next couple of days from them, and i was wondering if others have had offer letters from them and if so, how does the offer stand up against the amount you are trying to claim?
Just intrigued to know, so don't get too excited:eek: when letter drops on doormat!

thanks for repling to me. what do you suggest about them classing my 8wks from the 24th instead of the 2nd? shall i calculate my 8 wks then give them a ring when its up? or should i go with their 8 wks which started on the 24th?
TIA Becky.0
