To be honest if they made me a decent offer I would probably drop the court case and accept. Why do they insist on dragging it out when they know they'll pay in the end ?
  • It doesnt make sense really, and the different way they deal with claims, but hey!! they arent putting us off, although i think my postman thinks i have the hots for him lol
  • Well i called again today and should have an offer by the end of the week (which is my 8 week deadline).

Think i'll be calling them every day this week.

  • It does appear that they are waiting for the 8 week deadline before paying. However, my offer was only £150 less than I claimed so hopefully it will be good news for you.
  • Yeah, thats what i'm hoping- i can't claim interest til court, so just hope itll be a reasonable offer (unlike A&L)

I will go to court if need be but would prefer not to have to wait another 8 weeks .

HSBC are proper crooks , after being made redundant I can still remember the mare of a time I had as they kept charging me £300 a month in charges despite my pleas for some help.

HSBC are by far the slowest at paying out. But remember, they didn't get to be the world's biggest local bank by giving money back. They are making millions every week just by sitting on our money, lending it to all and sundry at exorbitant rates, refusing to cancel third world debts that have been paid back several times over. And don't even get me started on the Indian call centres with labour wages that wouldn't even buy us a decent takeaway over here. I won't even accept the call if I hear from another Steve who is clearly ringing from Delhi and not called Steve at all. It wouldn't bother me if he actually said his name was Momtaz Singh and he was ringing to see when I was paying in. It's the principal that HSBC are still on the con...

OK. Rant over. Back to work and to dreams of how i'm going to spend my own money when they give it back...

    Hi Lou.

    13th July - ouch.

I seem to remember that HSBC entered its defence for our claims on the same day, so I'll be legging it home to check my post in a bit.

I had hoped for a court date this site of June. Curses. That means I won't get my money before I move house so I'll be living without furniture for a few weeks by the look of things.
