is it worth holding out to get all the charges back if they offer less than the charges total even if its with out intrest. i have asked for my charges back with intrest, and i wouldent mind if they payed up with out the intrest.
does it matter if i have requested my charges back before all my paper statements have been delivered?0 -
Its completely up to you if you want to hold out or not, if you'd be happy with a lower offer then just see what they come up with.
It shouldnt be a problem that you're claiming back before your statements have arrived, so long as you have worked it all out properly from your online statements.A&L - 1st letter requesting money sent 22/03

I'm so glad I'm not alone. Ive gone through a few financial crises over the past few years now I can see the crises were actually CAUSED by HSBC. I lost my home because of their charges, had over £550 in charges in a 2 month period. They caused depression and I was too scared to answer the phone. Its a similar scenario it seems. Once you put money in by the time they take their charges you go overdrawn again hence more charges. I used to get paid on the 15th and would go to the nearest ATM and withdraw cash so me and my daughter could eat that month. I'd left my husband and asked HSBC if they could give me a payment holiday on my loan for a couple of months whilst I got on my feet. They refused. Eventually I couldnt afford my rent and had to leave my home after less than a year. I'd borrowed money off family to carpet and decorate it and had to leave and let somebody else benefit from all my hard work. HSBC knew I was selling my home that ex husband was occupying but gave me no leaway whatsoever.
Finally after getting back on my feet and into the black I sell my home and deposit £14,000 into my account. It was a hsbc cheque going into the account. A couple of days later the ATM said it was available so I drew out £50. They charged me £100 "arrangement fee" and claimed this was because of 4 unpaid DD's. I dont even have 4 DD's coming out of that account now!
They then said it was because I had drew on an uncleared cheque and refused to refund me despite my protests that the ATM said it was available.
Its like they use any excuse to dip into my account!
That sparked me so Ive wrote to them on 3rd april requesting over £2000 back. Ive had the letter from Colin Langdale, looking in to it blah blah.
Sooooo its now over 14 days, do I send the LBA now?
If anyone's unsure of whether to claim their charges back I'd say DO IT. I am sickened by their actions having held an account for 17 years. Now got a parachute account so couldnt care less if they closed mine.0 -
HSBC are defending my claim of 1400 and I received a 'Notice of transfer Proceedings' (No AQ). But here the THING how long does this take?
I have a 1250 overdraft which HSBC & they are NOW INSISTING I PAY IT BACK (AFTER 7 YEARS)
They said in 2 weeks they will start charging me for it!
Help someone should I threaten them with the Ombudsman and claim they are lying about their "periodical overdraft review" as it is clearly only because I want the 1400 charges back. If I do get the 1400 back I will pay off the overdraft obviously...
They are saying the only way to avoid the charges is to work out a repayment scheme for the overdraft, what should do?
HSBC ESPECIALLY seem to be getting very aggressive.0 -

They are being a little cheeky with the dates as my barrister friend says they have 8 weeks to deal with it from the time they receive it...and that is the date they signed for it..not logged it into the system..so seems they are working from the 8th of March for me... bet you beat me to it!!!0 -
