I sent my letter including the Bank Charges on the 16th April, dropped it through the HSBC bank letter box, so I was sure they had definately recieved it.
Got a reply on the 19th from Colin Langdale, saying they were looking into it. A leaflet was with it also, that seems to indicate a 8 week waiting period.
Should I wait those 8 weeks, or should I wait until the 14 days are up and send the letter threatening court?
Any advice would be great.

I got the same responce as you did, i tempted to wate until the 17th
of may which is the date HSBC have on their computers to contact me about the matter.
Beate makes a valid point, but i realy dont know if i should push my luck and presuer them even more.
HSBC have "responded" to your request , it may not be the one you would like to have recived.
you could play hsbc at there own game and wate the 8 weeks. and if they dont respond after that , take them to court.
can i still take them to court even if the 14days i specified in the letter are now up ?0 -
HSBCs 8 weeks is up tomorrow for me. I've already sent them an online message stating if I don't here from them I will be starting court proceedings.0

I had not received one written posted reply from HSBC until they sent me my statements on Saturday ... 307 pages!!! Luckily since I sent that request on 5th March I found the details online and composed the necessary letters but they never replied, other than to some emails saying the case was being dealt with.

hey guys HSBCs 8 weeks runs out for me next monday..do you think we are all in the same queue? Will be watching to see what happens to you two!0 -
I need some advice please. I filled in my allocation questionnaire last week, and am waiting for D and G solicitors to send me a letter to ask for my list of charges. So I am preparing that, just in case.
I have discovered that I missed out some charges.
I feel that by changing that now, it will delay things, and it has taken so long, to get this far.
I can recall on another thread, someone mentioning that a bank had informed the claimant, that they were entitled to more than they claimed for, as they had left out some charges.
I usually do not have that type of luck.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do?
I know that if you make more than one claim, the chances of your account being closed are high.
HSBC have applied more charges to my account, since I put in my claim anyway.
I am happy to leave things as they are as I believe, it may complicate things, and I do not want to be waiting for a response at the end of the year. It is three months since I sent my first letter.0 -
Yeah, same queue, everyone will be in it probably.
My time oficially runs out at the end of next week, but the last bloke i spoke to said i may hear something by the end of this week because they are onto working on claims from the start of march now.A&L - 1st letter requesting money sent 22/03
