My sister as two account with the HSBC. The first account is her personal account and i have just sent off the first letter asking for £2400 worth of charges back. The only thing is that she as another account with them which is for her morgage, she is a little worried that they will close the second account down and call in the loan. Has anybody had a problem with this?

Hi,
Sorry Im new to this, so here goes.
I have an old account with HSBC now closed I have sent my second letter (reg post) to my local branch, not the branch I was with as this is 3 hrs away so I thought it may be easier to deal with a local branch.
I sent this on the 28th March giving them 14 days - now is this 14 working days as the Easter break will make this seem longer?
I tried to phone to ask about my claim but they told me as my account is closed they can only deal with me at the branch. Does anyone know a number I can call where I might get better results??
Sorry but Im dying to get on with this.
Thanks x:A0 -
Hi All
I have read thru nearly every post but guess I just need to feel I am not the only one on the point of giving up I sent a letter on 12th March requesting repayment of charges on behalf of my wife( a749 without interest) I have send emessages and they confirmed letter rec'd 13th
have chased a few times at one point they said no letter rec'd
they say it is being dealt with and we will be advised of their response in due course
I have emialed the LBA to them last week and posted
but what confuses me is this 8 weeks to resolve is that from the date we claim or the date from MCOL letter?
also
I know it's only £80 to file MCOL but if they decide to defend then settle out of court can we reclaim that also?
any advise would be appreciated as now started to get abit run down by it all
cheers all0 -
Hang on in there!!! Don't let your bank win!!! They will pay out. I am in the HSBC and i am am ready today to send my third letter to them. I spoke to them on the phone yesterday and the person i spoke to told me that claims were been settled within the recommend time of 8 weeks set out by the FFA 'who ever they are'. The women also told me that most of the claims were taking alot less than the 8 weeks to be deal't with.markwoods10 wrote: »Hi All

Hi all, just after a bit of moral support really as my resolve is fading.
In the process of claiming around £2500 from HSBC. Yesterday I requested judgement by default on my MCOL after the 28 day period but HSBC entered a defence this morning before it was filed. I get the impression from the boards that this is happening a lot more lately. Any words of advice / support appreciated. Has anyone actually been to court yet?
Cheers and thanks to all, particularly Martin for the info and advice up to this point.0 -

Hsbc Refused!!! Complained To The Financial Ombusman Service!! As I Couldn't Afford Court Fees!!! And After Waiting 1 1/2 Months Letter This Morning Offering It All!!!! Back Yay!!!Kind Regards, Nina Simone.... :beer:0 -
Hi
I am in the process of a claim with HSBC for £1913 & issued MCOL on 28th March.
They have written today with an offer of £1525 :j , but challenging 2 charges totalling £80 (which ok I accept!) which still leaves a total claim of 1953.82 (this figure now including the £120 MCOL costs).
They are also challenging the interest (obviously!) & make no reference to the MCOL fees.
My Q is this ..... should I write back saying 'no deal' & accept the reduction of £80 but request ALL of the remainder, or should I just leave it, as MCOL have 2 weeks left & see if they offer the full amount (less disputed charges, but + MCOL charges & Interest?????) They have put in their letter 'If we do not receive your signed acceptance within this timescle (10 working days) we will take it that you have declined our offer'.
My view is that it is FULL payback time for the banks & the £428 the offer is short should be in my account & not left in thiers!!!!!
Edited to say that this is a duplicate post*Helen*
