Do i need to do this or should I just proceed with the 2nd letter?
Also they said that my letter was sent on 7th march when it was actually the 22nd, and their letter was dated 15th March which is impossible as I didn't write until the 22nd!!
And if I do need to write again with charge types I'm not sure what to put. On my statements the charge type just says DR. Would that be sufficient??
Please help!!!!!
There really doesn't seem to be much consistency with HSBC does there?! The spreadsheet on this site where you enter the amount and date (and interest will be calculated automatically) should be sufficient. Make sure you are claiming the correct penalty charges. You have said in your covering letter, i.e. using this site's template, that you are claiming for certain charges - that covers what you've entered on the spreadsheet. You don't need to itemise what the charge represents - just make sure it's correct.
Ignore the date errors, just goes to show how hectic it must be in their 'Reclaim Your Bank Charges' department at the moment. Take a look back through this thread for plenty of admin errors they've made.Lou0 -

I have got all the way to the Allocation Questionaire stage, after HSBC have taken til the very last moment at each stage :@(
Today i got the questionaire in the post, a letter from DG Solicitors asking for the breakdown of charges (which i have sent to the bank in both my 1st and 2nd letters) Also got my Credit card statements too ;@) so can start that claim too once i know what charges if any i can claim.
So im wondering.............Do i send the solicitors the info the are requesting?? (they dont answer their phones?!?) Even though i have sent it twice to their clients??
Is there anything i need to write on the questionaire regarding Expert reports, witnesses, or other information sections???
Please please please help me :-O Been going on since 7/2
Yes, send another breakdown - you're doing everything to cover yourself and giving them every opportunity to check what you're claiming.
I've just read a couple of success stories on this site - HSBC have paid out both just after the AQ has gone in and whilst a court date is being waited for. It's a pain that you've got to fork out the £100 in the meantime, but looks like you're nearly there in terms of offer timescales. My AQ should be here next week...Lou0 -
Hiya Lou!!
I Rang HSBC Again Today To See If They Could Tell Me Anything .. The Lad Who Answered (Quite Quickly - About 5 Mins!!) Was Really Helpful, He Said That An Offer Letter Was Written @ 3pm Yesterday & It Would Have Missed Yesterdays Post BUT They Send Everything 1st Class & if I Hadnt Got My Letter By Friday Then I Should Ring Back!!!
OMG Im Excited .. I Know I Shouldnt Get My Hopes Up But ... :j
Im Just Going To Take The Money & Run .. Unless Its A Really Stupid Crap Offer & Then Ill Cry & Start Court Proceedings :rotfl: Haha
Hope Yours Is Goin Well...NOT LONG NOW!!! :cool:xx

Thanks for the advice Louloujs - so do you think I should proceed with the 2nd letter (threatening court) now? It hasn't been 14 days but after that response maybe I should just get on with it. Maybe mention on the 2nd letter that the charges are all for going over my overdraft limit??0

Amy, there is no max. Just make sure you're claiming the right penalty charges. I've claimed and one more than £5000 on another case. What's the fo service?
The Financial Ombudsman service....they are going to claim for me on my behalf i called them today they said they sort it all for me and the bank legally does have 8 weeks but it must be all done and dusted in that time!!:j0 -

Hi
Just start court proceedings - follow the link on MCOL thread - its really helpful and makes filling itout a breeze. Theres a template written for you that you just fill in your details.
Don't let the bank determine when things happen - just stick to your timetable.
I started my proceedings 3 days ago - got notification from the court today, so just got to wait 25 more days.....LBM 22nd February 2007 - Amount in debt £72,242.23:confused: one month on  £63,900;) 2nd month 60,000.09

Hi
I'm just about to send my 1st letter outlining charges to HSBC. Can someone recommend an address to send to, or do I use the Canada Square one?
Cheers

You should send the first letter to your branch ideally, but you can use the Quality Service Team address in Leeds. I will try and find it for you in just a minute...Lou0
