I'm waiting on them...
Sent LBA with only 7 days for them to reply, which is up today, so i've sent an email to their team and will probably give them the full 14 days before i file with MCOL.

The claim was done through my local county court, do I just phone them instead? Should I do it now or wait till the money is in my account?
Anyone still waiting on HSBC - They do pay up! When I get the money back, will have been just under 2 months since first letter... not bad!
Yes, ring your local county court - but only AFTER the money has gone in. It seems as though HSBC do take a few days to pay out. Well done though!Lou0 -
money went into my account this morning! claimed £2258 on 22/2,agreed to settle for £2100 on 9/3 in my next letter threatening court, offer recieved 23/3 after several 'problems' their end with listing my 2nd letter wrong and talking to charges manager, rang yesterday to see when it would go in as i was told it would be 7days after i faxed offer acceptance back and i thought id be cheeky and hurry it along if possible, man on phone told me he would go and have quick word with Mr pretty (charges manager who i spoke to on Friday) and he said to print off copy of my acceptance of offer and take it straight over to refund department to get me my money within 24hours! it worked,i checked first thing and its all there, 4weeks 6 days from posting 1st letter
:T keep ringing and hassle them, they pay out in the end, dont let them dictate timescales,id definately recommend settling for slightly less, seems to win them round and i only lost out on £158,saved myself a lot of time and stress by doing so :T0 -
I dont know where to go from here .....
To date I have sent out both letters and 2 faxes
1st letter sent 01/03/07
2nd letter sent 15/03/07
fax sent 20/03/07
fax sent 27/03/07
I have not had any repsonse from HSBC so rang them on the 20/03/07 at which point they said they had not recieved either of my letters and could i fax or post to them..........i faxed and still not heard anything.
On the 23/03/07 i called them and they confirmed yes they have fax but that they had eights weeks stated by the F?? something, really not very helpfulman, anyway i stated that i too had deadlines of which i had stated in my letters and that i was reluctant to wait for their eight weeks as they had yet to even acknowledge reciept of my letters yet alone do anything about it and his response was go ahead and take it to court...........
I cant afford the MCOL until the end of April...........................and i dont know if they are still dealing with my letters or waiting to hear from the court
Anybody got any suggestions...............please, please0 -
OMG. Just had a letter from HSBC bascially saying they've investigated my claim for £7000 worth of charges plus interest - i claimed £5050 and no interest!!! - and that im getting nothing. I really don't think they know what they're doing. Is this a standard letter?
I issued proceedings against them about two weeks ago and they've acknowledged service with MCOL im just waiting for their Defence.0 -
thinkpink id ring 08456028006 and ask to talk to supervisor, they got hold of charges manager for me and i voiced my concerns and annoyances and he personally saw to me getting my money back long before i should have done. its worth waiting on hold to speak to him. good luck
(they 'lost' my letter too but i insisted they had it and it magically turned up on their systems

Thanks for that Soworried............I will give them a ring tomorrow
My fax sent yesterday said
I have tried to be patient but have to date not had a single response from either of my letters or my last fax, I feel this is very rude not to have even acknowledge receipt.
Unless I have heard a reasonable response from HSBC by the 29/03/07 I will be filing with the small claims court and at this point will no longer be open to any offers but will pursue for the full amount including interest.
If I haven’t heard from them by tomorrow I will take your advice onboard and ring to speak to a manager.........thank you0 -
hi everyone just wondered how much is the max i can ask for back?? i'm gonna use the fo service and am unsure of how far to go back i know its 6 years but i've paid alot more than £5000 in that time... i'm really useless with money!!0

I am claiming back just under 2000 with interest and court charges from HSBC.
Have just had news that following 2 measly offers they are defending the claim.
I don't know what to do. maybe I should have accepted the last offer, but surely the fact that they have made two offers is an admission of wrongdoing?0
