I'm about to file my online claim as my first letter was ignored by them, the second threatening court action was acknowledged ("we're looking into it"). I'm a bit scared too, as I'm claiming about £4,500!
    Fingers crossed everyone!

  • HI I have also done this with HSBC and this morning i got a transfer of proceedings form to return to the court for a date. hopefully its acase of filling it in, paying the fee (£100, !!!!!!s!) and turning up on my own to court. everything that i have read and researched tells me that this will happen.

i am at this stage as well im getting a bit worried but im gonna soldier on i will keep u posted. The 100 pounds fee is that as well as the fee i have already paid online .
  • Hi everybody

My first post. I sent 2 seperate letters to HSBC to reclaim the charges on 2 accounts at different branches, as advised I attached copies of all my statements and highlighted the charges (amounting to £1300 and £550). The response from each branch was different. One said that I now had to send another letter listing all the charges I was claiming in a specific format, the ohter said that they were 'looking into it'.

Both these letters arrived 13 days after my initial letter.

Do I need to list all the charges again in another letter, or do I now threaten court action?

    Any advice / similar experiences?

    Thanks!
  • Evening all !

I've come across a website I'd like someone on here (with more knowledge than me on bank charges) to look at. It's a website called conker.co.uk.

This company basically act on your behalf, to claim unfair bank charges. I haven't actually seen what percentage this company charges for their acting for us. Just thought I'd let people know, because I know I don't have the courage to fight but I am trying (god how I wish I did) although at the moment I'm sitting tight as HSBC are wanting their overdraft of £1,172 paid back to them within the space of the next fortnight. They have no chance, I don't have the money. They have tried selling me a managed loan Saturday when I visited my branch. Altough, alot of people are warning me against this. I'll probably get another threatening letter from them next week-but they'll just have to wait.

HH - Well done! You should send the response slip to the address on the front of the letter which I believe should be the Quality Service Team, Arlington Business Centre...

If you filed with MCOL, ring the customer service number and tell them, they will cancel proceedings with you.

    Good for you.

  • The claim was done through my local county court, do I just phone them instead? Should I do it now or wait till the money is in my account?

Anyone still waiting on HSBC - They do pay up! When I get the money back, will have been just under 2 months since first letter... not bad!
