  • HELP !!

I have got all the way to the Allocation Questionaire stage, after HSBC have taken til the very last moment at each stage :@(

Today i got the questionaire in the post, a letter from DG Solicitors asking for the breakdown of charges (which i have sent to the bank in both my 1st and 2nd letters) Also got my Credit card statements too ;@) so can start that claim too once i know what charges if any i can claim.

So im wondering.............Do i send the solicitors the info the are requesting?? (they dont answer their phones?!?) Even though i have sent it twice to their clients??

Is there anything i need to write on the questionaire regarding Expert reports, witnesses, or other information sections???

Please please please help me :-O Been going on since 7/2
  • I am about to make a claim for my charges.

I have a HSBC credit card with £500 outstanding and £1000 outstanding loan. Also a £1500 over draft (a graduate overdraft).

Would it be best to set up a parachute account just in case? Are HSBC threatening to close accounts?

I should have no problem paying off the over draft if needs be, but I was hoping I could do it with my bank charges.

Just sending off my first letter today.
  • Please, I'd be most grateful for advice.
I have a personal current account (no O/D facilty) and a joint one with my wife (£1,500 O/D facility). I also have a £10,000 Personal Loan with HSBC.
Between both accounts we have been charged >£900 in the last year. Via Internet Banking, I identified these charges and sent a letter ( 3 weeks ago) asking for them to address the issues of excessive charging. They have sent me a letter saying they are looking into my case. I have contacted them today, and they say they have 3 weeks to address my letter, and a possible FURTHER FOUR weeks. Should I wait for them to reply, or send a second letter DEMANDING a refund with possible legal case?
I have opened up a parachute account, though with no O/D facilty. We are up to out £1,500 O/D limit on our joint account. Thus I am fearful of HSBC closing my accounts and demanding BOTH the £1,500 OD AND my loan in.
We are not homeowners. Any advice would be great

    Hi,

I am currently going through the reclaiming process for my two HSBC accounts. I sent my initial letter asking for charges on March 5th to which i receieved no reply. I sent the 2nd letter threatening court action on March 19th. On March 21st i received the standard letter from Colin with a reference stating they are looking into my enquiry. This letter was dated 15th March! though received it on 21st! Typical stalling!
I have still not heard anything from them so today i sent an email through internet banking stating that i will be entering a claim in 5 days so they had better get a wriggle on if they want to settle. I had a reply in my messages in online banking saying my case is now priority, they apologise for the delay and i should hear from them soon...hopefully before April 3rd, lol

I am claiming £741 inc int from Acc 1 and £780 odd with Acc 2
I am seriously getting hacked off with waiting now but i know it will be worth it in the end, fingers crossed! I will keep you updated. I am adamant i will file a court claim on April 3rd if i have not received a satisfactory response.

Good luck to all those claimers, hopefully be back soon with good news

    Cheers
    :rotfl:

Well i just gave the chaps on the service quality team (the 08456 number) a call and was talked through the process by a nice lady, who said that they are aiming to get people refunded within the 8 weeks set out by the FSA and they are aiming for 5 weeks from your claim being 'logged onto their system'.

Regardles of you rejecting an offer, they still have to get it all sorted by the 8 week mark.

I am going to stick to my own timeline and that looks like what most people have done. I'm giving them another week so they had 14 days from my LBA and then i'm filing.

  • I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. The LBA letter used to give the bank 7 days notice but now it has changed to 14 days notice. Which is the correct version?

    Thanks very much.

Barney - HSBC don't seem to be closing accounts but it's advisable to open another account just in case. I opened one with LLoyds TSB online - it took 7 days to get the whole thing up and running.

I sent off my 1st letter requesting charges back on 22nd March - received my response today (6 days later) saying so they could look into it I would have to state on each charge the charge type - all i did was send the print-out from the interest calculator on this site as it says to do.

Do i need to do this or should I just proceed with the 2nd letter?

Also they said that my letter was sent on 7th march when it was actually the 22nd, and their letter was dated 15th March which is impossible as I didn't write until the 22nd!!

And if I do need to write again with charge types I'm not sure what to put. On my statements the charge type just says DR. Would that be sufficient??

    Please help!!!!!

hi everyone just wondered how much is the max i can ask for back?? i'm gonna use the fo service and am unsure of how far to go back i know its 6 years but i've paid alot more than £5000 in that time... i'm really useless with money!!

Amy, there is no max. Just make sure you're claiming the right penalty charges. I've claimed and one more than £5000 on another case. What's the fo service?
