Hi
Just prepared first letter to get a list of charges,i have read that HSBC will close account after paying out! We currently have two current accounts and our mortgage with them. Would claiming be likely to affect mortgage?0 -
won't affect your mortgage but they may think about clsing your current a/c. get a parachute a/c opened just in caseLegalBeagles0

help needed please.....
i sent my 2nd letter for my refund to canada square office instead of my local branch by recorded delivery..ive looked on the royal mail website for the tracking service and its telling me that proof of signing is not avaiable at this time.so does that mean that they got my letter but just can't show me the proof of signing? that was deliverd on the 9th march so its been 10days now and ive not heard anything yet..do i wait a bit longer or is it cause i didn't send it to my local branch where my bank account, that ive not heard anything yet?
or do i send another 2nd letter to my local branch?
thanks clare:A0 -
it means its delivered but with the banks they tend to sign for a whole batch of mail with one signature...so really dont worry about it....file your claim after the 14 days is up (give htem a couple days grace for receiving the letter.LegalBeagles0

thanks for your quick relpy:D
so was it still alright to send it to the canada square address and not my local branch?0 -
HSBC have defended my claim!!! Today logged onto MCL and found that HSBC had entered a defence. Have yet to get the AQ, but expect it soon. I assume now that I complete the AQ, send it back and wait for the court date? Also I forgot to include the paragraph about claiming interest with my claim, I just put the full amount that included interest...Will this go against me in court??
Also if HSBC do decide to make an appearance will the judge just re-calculate the claim amount (assuming that I win!)
Any help would be much appreciated.....
Also have lost access to Online Banking as of today very strange....Do you think HSBC have blocked me????0 -
:j :j :j :j :j :j after 2 letters and 3 phone calls to service team im settling for £2100 on a £2258 claim,i offered to settle lower as didnt really have the money for court
not that i told them that , first letter sent 22/02, 2nd letter sent 09/03,told today when i rang that my 2nd letter had been put under hubbys name not mine and sorry 4 problems and being put on hold again, the lady on the phone got a member of the claims team to sort it and he said that the full amount will be credited to my account within 7 working days  im so pleased, just gota wait and see when they drop the money into my account:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
just a quick note that i found the best way to hurry it along was to ring the service quality team on 08456 028006,i was left on hold for over an hour twice but they always answered and were very helpful, well worth it as i wouldnt have my offer now if i hadnt rung them and bugged them. 3 weeks from start to finish,no courts, easy and simple, dont know why i was so worried!0 -

Thanks for your post - I can never get a response from the number so have been chasing it up via the complaints number. Sent my first letter on the 13th Feb has an acknowledgement on the 19th Feb sent my second letter on the 27th Feb had a response on the 15th March saying that they should get back to me by the 12th April. I think i may wait and see if I get a response to that my claim is typed and ready to go though.
Thanks

I received an offer letter from HSBC but at the end they told me I had made an error in my charges calculations (they took off £20 for an temporary overdraft limit that I apparently agreed to over the phone at the time - still was that REALLY worth £20?!)
But by the time I received this letter it was over the 14 days and I had already filed a claim with MCOL. I don't want to accept their offer anyway but I'm wondering if this error in the amount will cause me a problem? I think there is a charge of £30 to make an amendment with MCOL - does anybody know whether I can just leave it as it is or would these make my claim invalid?
Thank you all0
