I would like to reclaim my bank charges from HSBC, can anyone suggest which address I would be better sending my letters to?
I have the option of local branch, canada square and an address in leeds.
I was just wondering if it made much difference to everybody elses claim!
Also has anyone had any negative experiences from taking action??? - we run a joint account and are currently living in the £1500 overdraft... although bearing in mind should they pay up, our claim is for around £1000.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
Today I received a letter from DG Solicitors requesting copies of spreadsheets etc., Which I sent by recorded delivery this morning.
On reading everyones posts it seems that everyone else has received an Allocation Questionaire almost straight after the solicitors have acknowledged the claim and said they are going to defend it.
Have I got this right? Or am I just getting myself into more of a 'kerfuffel' than usual?.
Would hate to muck things up this far down the line.
Many thanks in advanceProud to be dealing with my debts ONE day at a timeStopped smoking 25.05.07 - Saving £7.80 a day:j Successfully claimed bank charges of £2598.39 as of 1st June 2007:j0 -
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick question... I initially claimed for charges only of £2,525 (no interest, over six years). I have calculated the interest to be £1,216.54.
Can I send second letter and include interest now, and is the interest calculated correct?
Also, which court do I put down on my 2nd letter? My local county court?
Many thanks. Hope someone can help me out.
We don't know whether your calculated interest is correct as we don't know when the charges occured. You have to input all charges individually in the calculator with the date they occured, otherwise it will be incorrect.
You can include interest in the second letter or wait for the third or wait for the court claim to do so - you are only ever entitled to get the interest back once you file a court claim so before it is only a bargaining tool.
It is your local court but you can leave this info out and just say "the court will rule in my favour".Reclaimed thanks to this site:

I fear I may have lost my chance to claim my money. I was offered £1462 of an initial £2206 claim. I decided to push for the whole amount, and reading that a user on this forum successfully emailed and received an offer online, i tryed that last night, giving t hem another 7 days to respond with a better offer.
I'm now concerned that if they do not respond with a better offer, am I still able to take them to court, or will my email be seen in any way as not following the correct procedure, and I may end up with nothing ?
Any thoughts ?
No, you have done everything right. If they do do not offer you an amount you are happy with you can always go ahead and file a court claim for the full amount. In fact, the court will look favourably on you trying your utmost to resolve the claim amicably before filing a claim so you have nothing to worry about. Keep a copy of your email as evidence in court should it ever come that far.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

DG Solicitors- Help!
Hi,
HSBC have put in a defence, I have completed the AQ. Today I got letter for DG. Asking for a breakdown of charges. Is this necessary again? And if so shall I recalculate the interest to today as the original calculations were made in Decemeber.
Any advice greatly appreciated.Lightbulb moment - 29/01/2007

Two weeks ago tomorrow my wife sent off the letter to her branch asking for a refund of the charges, she hasn't heard anything since. Should the next letter threatening court action be sent to her branch or to the Leeds address? According to the royal mail tracking the letter was delivered on the wednesday (7th March), I was going to suggest she leaves it till then and if she's had no reply by that date to send the next letter, just not sure where to send it if we haven't heard anything at all.
Thanks0 -
