Angie - could i ask you a quick question? Or any one else thats online at the mo that might be able to help? Im currently completing the online court forms and was wondering which HSBC address people have given / i should give to the courts? Canada Square or Exeter High street?

(And im no expert but the above sounds fine to me, if you dont have the info you dont have it, however i would wait for someone who has been here a bit longer to confirm that!)

    Thanks

    Dappy Girl,

    I used the following address:
    HSBC Bank plc
    Arlington Business Centre
    Millshaw Park Lane
    Leeds
    LS11 0PP
There is a section somewhere on these forums that give all the addresses and that is where I got the information from. Sorry, can't find the link, but the above address is correct for HSBC.
    Good luck ;)

  • Hi everyone,

I filed my claim with MCOL on 19th February 2007. I was notified by MCOL that the claim would be deemed served on 24th February 2007.

D&G Solicitors filed an acknowledgement dated 21st February 2007and said they were going to defend the claim.

MCOL say that D&G have 28 days from service to file their defence.

Now the question is, is that 28 days from the 24th, when the claim was deemed to have been served or 28 days from the 21st, when the solicitors actually recieved the claim and then replied the same day.

Only 3 days but it makes a difference because It means I may be away with work if its 28 days from the 24th.

Hi All - started with HSBC on 10 February. Sent 'threaten with court' letter and as didn't hear by last Wednesday as I had requested, took them to Court on Sunday night using MCOL. Anyone else had trouble fitting their info in on 24 lines? Took me about an hour! With interest claiming £4,250 - court charge was £120, others be prepared for this, obviously higher the claim, higher the cost, hadn't realised. Just had enough on my HSBC credit card!

Anyway, this morning received short letter from Colin saying 'he is still making his investigations' - ask for a printout Colin, it's at your fingertips, do they think we are stupid! - and he'd be in touch by 10 April.

Anyone know if this is the date the law changes? Also funny that they have to defend the claim by April 1st - let's hope I'm not the fool.

Have just looked at the MCOL query thread and think I might have kippered myself with my 'Particulars of Claim' info - just kept editing what I had, have probably written gobblydegook - look at the summary there which keeps to 1080 characters.

  • Hi everyone!

OK I sent off the first letter to the bank with a excel statement of my charges and they wrote back saying they will look into it. But I haven't had a response for 3 weeks. What would you recommend I do?

Should I just go ahead with the second letter? And if so, should I mention the letter I got from them?

    Many thanks in advance :)

I Agree with Edinburghlass! The letter they send as a response (probably from Colin Langdale) is a standard letter! They received my 2nd letter on Tuesday, so am watching the letter box with anticipation!!!

Just to add to the address queries - I wonder if it really matters where we send our letters? I am sure they all have scan and email facilities to send them around!

  • I'm fairly on with the process now, the problem is HSBC responded to me on the same day I had just filed my moneyclaim. They owe me £850. I sent the letter threatening court action and heard nothing back, so I went to moneyclaim which cost me £80. The same day I get a letter saying they are looking into it. Several days later they offer to settle for £720, and I think this must have been before the moneyclaim had reached them. Thing is I am now owed £930. I am happy to settle for the £720 amount, as I reckon that's not a bad amount, the only thing is I will lose my court money + is it too late?

Any ideas? Should I just carry on? Having checked on moneyclaim they have acknowledged the claim already so have I jumped the gun?

I've had a letter off HSBC after sending in my letter to reclaim charges and a list of what they've charged me. Today (day 14) they sent me a letter saying that they are "looking into the matter and will contact you with a full response as soon as I have completed my investigations".

Now, I've seen that other people have had similar letters and then got offers. What do I do. Should I wait (if yes, how long), or should I start the claim on line, or should I send another letter? Any help greatly appreciated.
