    Hi,

HSBC have put in a defence, I have completed the AQ. Today I got letter for DG. Asking for a breakdown of charges. Is this necessary again? And if so shall I recalculate the interest to today as the original calculations were made in Decemeber.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

If the OFT report has come out by then where do i stand? Should i still be able to go for the full amount?

It should make no difference, so I wouldn't worry about it. You should still get the full amount if you continue with the claim.

I fear I may have lost my chance to claim my money. I was offered £1462 of an initial £2206 claim. I decided to push for the whole amount, and reading that a user on this forum successfully emailed and received an offer online, i tryed that last night, giving t hem another 7 days to respond with a better offer.
I'm now concerned that if they do not respond with a better offer, am I still able to take them to court, or will my email be seen in any way as not following the correct procedure, and I may end up with nothing ?
    Any thoughts ?

    Hi there,
I had the same problem, but they did arrive eventually, after resending my original letter - recorded delivery.
I am now receiving letters stating that they have received my complaint but they are so busy they need another 4 weeks to look into it (I wonder why!!!???) They just offerred Financial Ombudsmen details - HA ! Is anyone else receiving these letters ?
Still, I have powered through and will be posting my letter giving them 7 days to settle or else, in the morning.
In the meantime, I have registered with Money Claims online - if I know Abbey, they'll go down fighting !

    Hi

I have gone through all the process of MCOL with HSBC for an amount of £2300.

I have today had acknowledgement that they intend to defend my claim in full.

Has this ever happened to anybody else?
    What should I do now?

They did make an offer of £1600 without interest as they thought that my claim for interest was "inappropriate" - their words not mine

Should I accept this offer and therefore forfeit also the £120 it cost me at MCOL or should I just hold out and wait and see?

    I am very worried now!

No need to be worried, they will most likely pay up anyway or not turn up to the court date. Just hold your nerves, "intending to defend" is just another scare tactic.

  • Can someome help me with my problem. Have had a letter from DG solicitors this morning offering me the full amount I claimed:beer: . However, they have said they want to pay it back against the outstanding amount on my accounts although I no longer have an account with them as they closed and sold it to a debit collection agency some after I started to take action. Can they force me to use it against the outstanding debt (which I do not owe to them now) or can I instist on a cheque?

Without even reading the Particulars Of Claim, anyone receiving such a document should, as a matter of course, respond with a Full Defence.

My other half has requested her bank statements (from a closed hsbc account) about 3 weeks ago, and yeterday got a letter saying they would be sent soon, in batches.

this seems odd, has anyone else had this? sounds like delaying tactics
